Minato Namikaze

Minato Namikaze, also known as Konoha’s Yellow Flash, (because of his technique) was a very talented Shinobi from the leaf village. But more than a Shinobi, he was the fourth Hokage, and most powerful of them all. Minato was trained by Jiraiya along with two other unnamed ninjas. He was taught many different techniques, including the powerful summoning jutsu and holds the record of been the only one to actually full control the powerful toad chief Gamabunta (Jiraiya himself couldn’t accomplish this). Minato was a skillful ninja and a genius at such a level that he created several jutsus, including the all-powerful rasengan (which took him three years to master) and the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Rin, Obito, Kakashi, Minato

Minato is also a ninja war veteran along with Kakashi, Obito and Rin. After the great ninja war, Minato was chosen by the third Hokage (Sarutobi) to become the fourth Hokage. Sarutobi’s first choice, however, would have been Orochimaru, but Orochimaru had abandon the village in search of new jutsus. Minato was chosen instead as the 4th Hokage. The village accepted Minato, and agreed he was the best choice.

Minato then met with a woman named Kushina Uzumaki, from the land of whirlpool. Eventually, Kushina became pregnant. Not long after they would be visited by Jiraiya, who brought them one of his first books, which feature a character with the name Naruto. Minato loved the name Naruto and wanted to name his child this. Jiraiya at first asked him to reconsider, but then Kushina also approved with the name, and it was settle their son would be named after one of Jiraiya’s creations.

Nine-Tails fox attack on the village

Not long after Naruto was born, the Nine-Tailed Fox demon attacked Konoha, wiping out all shinobi who dare stand on its way. Minato, being the Hokage, summoned Gamabunta and went to face the diabolic beast. Having no other choice, Minato made the ultimate sacrifice. Taking his newly born child, he used a forbidden jutsu called the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, (Minato’s most powerful jutsu) a jutsu that literally called Death and through the body of the user rips out the soul of the target from the body. In this case Minato only was able to seal the Nine Tail Fox’s power using Naruto as a container. A cruel act, but it was not to cause the hatred Naruto had to face. Minato’s intentions were actually to make the village see Naruto as a hero, not a possessed kid containing the Nine Tail Fox.

Because Minato died, he was not able to pick a successor, in which case the Hokage once again became Sarutobi. He made a decree that the fact of Naruto being a container for the demon fox would never be mention, yet the decree itself couldn’t hold back the villager’s tongues, or those who surround Naruto.
