Mihoshi Kuramitsu

Overview
Mihoshi Kuramitsu is a character from the Tenchi Muyo anime series. Mihoshi is infamously known as a ditzy blond with a bad habit of causing so much collateral damage. Mihoshi is also a Galaxy Police officer and the granddaughter of the Grand Marshal of the Galaxy Police - which is also the reason as to why Mihoshi ever got into the Galaxy Police.

In the OVA (Original Video Animation) series, Mihoshi is a police officer for the Galaxy Police. Mihoshi was nothing but a burden for the Galaxy Police so they decide to sent Mihoshi to just moderate the Sol System because the wanted criminal, Kagato, was spotted - the real reason as to why she was sent there is because it was a way for her not to cause any more trouble. But Mihoshi misunderstood the orders and decided to go capture Kagato and she goes into the planet Earth.

When Mihoshi goes into the Earth, it turns out to be a disaster for Mihoshi when she almost gets sucked into a black hole that was cause by a monster that Ryoko summons out in a fight against Ayeka. But Tenchi actually saves Mihoshi from her terrible fate and she also becomes attracted to Tenchi as a result.

Mihoshi has the unusual ability to be able to manipulate causality, though she is largely unaware of this ability since she tends to impulsively use it. She used this power in a panic to free Washu from suspended animation in Soja's reverse world and to bypass the security systems of Washu's lab. Washu is so amazed with this ability that she admits that Mihoshi may be the only person in the universe who could overcome her intellect.

Despite her laziness, Mihoshi is serious about her duties as a Galaxy Police officer and is capable of doing household chores around the house better than Ryoko and Ayeka. Her reports tend to be very detailed and unstructured where she mentioned confidential details regarding the Jurai royal trees in her report on Kagato which resulted in a revision of her report that left out the sensitive information.

In the Tenchi Universe series, (Tenchi Muyo T.V in Japan) Mihoshi plays the same role as she did in Tenchi Muyo OVA. However, Mihoshi is more of a blond stereotype in this series as she is more ditzy and prone to causing Tenchi's group problems with her clumsiness. Mihoshi gets partnered up with Kiyone, who was a first class detective for the Galaxy Police, but gets demoted because of Mihoshi and will do anything just to get away from Mihoshi.

In her introduction to the Tenchi Universe series, Mihoshi was on pursuit for the evil space pirate, Ryoko, who is wanted by the Galaxy Police. Mihoshi was chasing after Ryoko in a mech suit, but later on in the episode, Mihoshi's mech suit gets destroy by Yosho. Mihoshi then tries to put Ryoko underarrest, but fails terribly and then she & Tenchi run away from Ryoko. Just when Mihoshi & Tenchi were about to be killed by Ryoko, Tenchi stands up for himself and Ryoko suddenly sees something in Tenchi; and then she decides to surrender herself to Tenchi.

Ryoko also decides to surrender herself to Mihoshi; but Mihoshi forgets what she has to say about reading a criminal's rights when arrested; so Ryoko was free from Mihoshi. Because of Yosho destroying Mihoshi's mech suit, Mihoshi had no way of getting back to headquarters, so she & Ryoko decides to stay with Tenchi & his family.

Mihoshi's role in Tenchi in Tokyo was pretty much the same in the previous series, the only difference being that Mihoshi's design was a bit different from how she was in the previous series.

Mihoshi Special

Mihoshi Special was a bit of a spin-off of the OVA series. In Mihoshi Special, Mihoshi talks about her time with the Galaxy Police to her friends after being question by Ayeka about how Mihoshi ever got into the Galaxy Police.

Mihoshi talks about how she and her partner Kiyone sloving the case of the missing "Ultra Energy Matter" that was stolen - Mihoshi uses Ryoko & friends as characters as part of her story. The Ultra Energy Matter was stolen by the wanted space pirate, Ryoko, and she also kidnap fellow Galaxy Police officer, Tenchi. It was Mihoshi & Kiyone's job to get back the Energy Matter, and to rescue Tenchi. Accompanying Mihoshi & Kiyone is Galaxy Police apprentice, Sasami, & Tenchi's wife, Ayeka.

Pretty Sammy OVA

Pretty Sammy is another spin-off of the Tenchi series, but unlike the previous series, Mihoshi & many other characters play completely different roles. In Pretty Sammy, Mihoshi is a college student living with the down on her luck Kiyone. Mihoshi sometimes teases Kiyone about her failing to get into college, and keeps count of the number of times that Kiyone gets rejected by the men that she has interest in.
