Midnight News

Midnight is a anime/manga character in the Fairy Tail franchise
| |

Howdy everyone and welcome to the Fairy Tail weekly report! This is the 2nd to last episode in the filler arc because next episode preview contains scenes of Legion and a scene of Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney.

Plot

Only Brain II is left standing between Natsu and Lucy, but he's the most powerful of the Six Generals! Also, learn the secret history of Lucy and Michelle in this epic finale to the Key of the Starry Heavens arc!

By Crunchyroll

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

  • Emotional Momentum:Fairy Tail always grabs me when the old Fairy Tail music swings and Natsu and his gang kick butt. It's the only time where talk about friendship is allowed.
  • Michelle and Jude's Back Story: Michelle and Lucy's bond is one of the biggest highlights in this filler arc. In the end, Michelle/Imitatia really love Lucy, but she was controlled by Midnight as a puppet.
  • Natsu's fight with Midnight is short which is good because Natsu's fights are pretty much overpowering his enemies. No creativity or anything new occurs.

Bad

Rogue and Sting might show up at the end of Ep 151
Rogue and Sting might show up at the end of Ep 151
  • Pre-planning crap: I don't believe that Klodoa, Midnight, and the others set this plan for 7 years or more. That's ridiculous if you agree with me.
  • Midnight's daddy problems didn't go so well. Lucy and Natsu just rattled the guy's nerves which led to his defeat.
  • Next episode still includes some filler which will drive fans nuts when they want to see Sting and Rogue.

Bizarre

Cobra and Kinana - what's happening here?
Cobra and Kinana - what's happening here?
  • Kinana x Cobra:Wish we could see more of their back story on how the two met. They're pretty close.
  • Lucy became the ship.
  • What will happened to Kinana? Will she stay with the Fairy Tail guild?

Overall, this episode is decent. After stalling the anime with mediocre fights and stale humor, we're almost at the manga's current story. The unique thing about this filler arc is Michelle who brought a mystery element into it.

Thanks

Thank you guys and gals for reading this report and for supporting the franchise. Remember to watch it legally on Crunchyroll or Funimation.

Plot

Welcome to the Weekly Fairy Tail! Last week's episode had a great battle for Gray, and the final battles are almost there. This week's episode concludes Erza's battle, Michelle/Imitatia's true identity, and starts up Natsu's battle with Midnight.

The battle to rescue Lucy from the Infinity Clock rages on, but it may be too late as Lucy becomes one with the clock! Plus, the climactic battle between Erza and Cobra!

Verdict

Beware of Spoilers!

Good

Romeo and Natsu's Heat of Friendship
Romeo and Natsu's Heat of Friendship
  • Big Surprises: Man, I love Fairy Tail when their surprises are awesome. I had doubts if Michelle ever care for Lucy, but she did love Lucy to the very end. At first, I thought Michelle was fake, but I dropped the idea when Michelle reveals herself as Imitatia. Now, she's a doll that Lucy forgot.
  • Michelle/Imitatia's Character: Some of you guys and gals may not like Michelle/Imitatia, but I love her character. She was a ditzy character who care for Lucy, and when she was Imitatia, she was cool and had this Yuri obsession with Lucy. She made arc interesting enough to keep me watching it.
  • Heat of Friendship: Usually, I hate cliche scenes where Natsu and the gang talk about this subject. Romeo's speech is one of the best in this arc. The others didn't have enough emotion. When I saw Natsu punch Midnight for stepping on Michelle, that scene felt great.

Bad

Erza's battle is short and stale
Erza's battle is short and stale
  • Erza's battle with Cobra:It was mostly talking and little action. Cobra keeps being obsessed with Cubelios (Kinana) while Erza keeps talking about friendship.
  • The episode feels like it stalled again since it takes the whole episode for Cobra and Imitatia to be defeated. Imitatia's battle with Natsu and Romeo is better than Cobra's battle with Erza.

Overall, this episode is decent but the battles are stale with too much talking. Though, Romeo's talk to Imitatia added more emotion to Imitatia's battle while all that pent up despair makes Imitatia's death scene makes most of us feel sad or pity.

Plot

Welcome everyone to the Weekly Fairy Tail report!

Lucy nee-san is mine!
Lucy nee-san is mine!

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

Erza's smack talk to Cobra is simply marvelous
Erza's smack talk to Cobra is simply marvelous
  • The filler arc looks like it's coming to an end since we are coming to the final battles.
  • Gajeel gets some action, but Midnight easily defeats him. It leaves me wondering what is Midnight's powers.
  • Erza's scene where she imitates Cobra is awesome. I just love how she lay down the smack talk.

Bad

Sugarboy's performance is dismal without Gray over there
Sugarboy's performance is dismal without Gray over there
  • Interestingly, Gildartz's battle with Byro is the first one solved with just fists. Though, it didn't get much attention.
  • The episode is another set up for bigger battles. It is a sign of more stalling which is either good or bad for everyone.
  • Happy's Late Epiphany: Like Lucy, beating the Oracion Seis is no brainer when saving the day. The Fairy Tail has always solve their problems by beating their opponents.
  • Sugarboy, Gatman, and Mary Hughes' scenes are not needed. It ruins the flow of the episode since it did not provide anything important nor anything funny.

Bizarre

  • The Fairy Tail community makes some comments about Imitatia's obsession with Lucy and how Yuri-like it is. I'm starting to see it now.

All in all, the episode is decent to say the least. It's just another episode where it sets up the battles. The only thing good is that we're almost done with this long arc.

Thanks

Thank you and please support the franchise, the wiki editors, and the wiki pages.

Sorry about the rushed report with little images. It's getting hectic during the fall semester for most of us wiki editors who have school. I'm cool with sharing the weekly reports. The more people covering anime and manga, the better this community gets.

Wiki Progress: Daniel and I managed to finish Ep. 147 for now. Though, I rushed the wiki job, so it's not all that details. I check thru to fill in some gaps.

Our priorities are pretty much episodes. I wish I can devote time to characters like the folks in Fairy Tail Wikia. Those guys and gals are doing a marvelous job on the Fairy Tail wiki. In my heart, Anime Vice always remain number one for Fairy Tail and the wiki projects with the exception of Sket Dance. I love both Sket Dance Wikia and Anime Vice.

Hey everyone and welcome to the Fairy Tail weekly report! Last week, Lucy receives the shock of her life when she discovers her beloved cousin who is like a sister is her enemy. Natsu and Lucy wind up getting captured. It's up to the Fairy Tail gang to rescue them.

Plot

As Natsu and the Jiggle Butt Gang break out of their prison cell, Erza and the Fairy Tail gang ride Christina to stop the Oracion Seis from unleashing the nightmare that affects everyone's sense of time.

Can they save the day?

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

The first Big Butt Bandits' cool moment
The first Big Butt Bandits' cool moment
  • Despite the jiggle butt gang, it was actually pretty tame. For some weird reason, I enjoyed Natsu and their breaking out scene a lot.
  • We got more background info on Jude Heartphilia. Too bad, it's all filler information. Lucy is damn naive, but Imitatia had some feelings for her. Kindness is pretty contagious, eh guys and gals?
  • Mirajane's fight scene is unexpected and fun to watch. I enjoyed everyone's fights except for Natsu. He just overwhelm people with just brute force.

Bad

So looking forward to seeing her fight
So looking forward to seeing her fight
  • We didn't get anywhere much. It's just a big exposition and set up for new things to come.

Bizarre

Trivia: The Fairy Tail women wore the suit but not the men
Trivia: The Fairy Tail women wore the suit but not the men
  • If Celestial Wizards' Anti Link is severed and turn into a chrystallis stage, how come Katja is all normal?
  • Interestingly, Natsu declined to wear the Big Butt Bandits' tight spandex outfit. I realized it was the girls who wore them. Not a single man from Fairy Tail wore the spandex.

Overall, the episode is good but not awesome. It's just a slow episode where they set up things. I'm interested in the nightmare that affects everyone's sense of time. It's an interesting chaos element.

Thanks

Thank you guys and gals for supporting Fairy Tail and the wiki editors who are working hard. Any blogs, reviews, wiki edits, or comments would make Anime Vice a better place.

Welcome to the Weekly Fairy Tail report! I'm Taka, your friendly neighborhood wiki editor. I got distracted with a tsundere mash-up quest. Anyways, we have had a plot twist in last week's episode. Some of you might have guessed that Michelle is not what she seems to be from the beginning or the last few episodes. This week, we get to see who the hell is Michelle Lobster.

Plot

After Gildartz and Laki find the real Michelle Lobster, the battle heats up, and Oracion Seis is attacking Will Neville's disciples to unleash the chaos. In Lucy's batle, she is about to get a rude awakening about the woman she loved as a sister, Michelle.

Imitatia
Imitatia

Will Oracion Seis unleash chaos and can Lucy wake and see the truth?

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

Imitatia, a traitor
Imitatia, a traitor
  • This episode is not boring like most of the episodes in this filler arc. Like last week's episode, it's interesting with a bit of plot twist and action.
  • What's good about this filler arc is that lot of the minor characters fight and have a role: Alzack and Bisca gets some action. Max is fighting alongside Erza.
  • Fake Michelle Lobster is Imitatia. I can't seem to think of a good name for a woman who has plant attribute and mimic abilities. Her and Lucy's scene is touching. I wonder if Imitatia cried for real or not.
  • Klodoa is Jackpot which surprises me.

Bad

  • There's not much bad in this episode. I do wish the battles to be a bit longer except for Natsu's battle.
  • DestinyHeroKnight: He pointed to a plot hole about Klodoa. We were wondering how the hell he is still alive after being crushed to death by Zero in the Nirvana arc.

Overall, this episode is good. We're finally getting somewhere with the story. I'm not looking forward to the next episode because the big butt bandits appeared.

Thanks
