Also known as Meryl "Derringer " Stryfe, she has a huge crush on Vash.
Meryl works for the Bernardelli Insurance Society, sent to evaluate claims regarding Vash the Stampede. Initially, she misjudges Vash and thinks he is just goofy and an annoyance and dismisses the idea that he is the Humanoid Typhoon. As she spends more time with Vash, she realizes that he isn't the villain that says he is or the clown that he presents himself to be. As time passes, she becomes fond of Vash and starts respecting him more than before. Although she hides many derringer-style pistols under her coat she doesn't fight alongside Vash. As time passes her affection towards Vash grows greatly to the point it is very evidently also she reminds him of Rem. In the final episode Vash is shown returning to her after his battle with Knives.
