La Princess isn't Japanese-made, though; she was built by a French company called La Machine, but in Liverpool, England. They've done a pretty good job with it: from what you can see in the video, it really walks like a spider, but it can minimize the height it brings its legs up to or maximize it, or at least that's how it looks.
I just spent the last, like, half-hour trying to find a picture or a clip or even the right !#@$ing episode number for the Venture Bros. episode that opens with Doc building a spy-der bot, but to no avail. So you'll just have to enjoy the footage of the actual spider robot that is the subject of this article. Sorry!
