Masaki Murakami was a freelance journalist who stumbled upon a Chronos operation. He was captured and used as a Zoalord testbody. Thought destroyed, he survived and began working against the organization.
Masaki Murakami was a freelance journalist until the day he stumbled across a Chronos test field. Masaki was immediately captured and experimented on. Eventually he was used as a test body for future Zoalord, Richard Guyot. Masaki was a part of an uprising with other test bodies that tried to rebel against Chronos. All save Murakami were killed. Masaki himself was thought destroyed. After the destruction of Chronos Japan Masaki began following Sho Fukamachi (Guyver I), whose identity he had discovered. He aided the Guyvers (concealing his battle form but occasionally using his psionic abilities).
In the OAV series Masaki first shows his battle form when three Enzyme II units attack Sho's companions (while he is away and unable to bio-boost). Murakami is at first very successful in defeating two Enzyme units but quickly begins to tire. He is forced to physically snap the final units neck. (Note: There were only 12 episodes in the original series and Murakami's origin was never revealed nor why he ran out of power).
In the TV Series Murakami first reveals his Zoalord form when confronted by the Hyper Zoanoid Team Five. His appearance revealed, Dr Hamical Balkus orders the team to withdraw. Masaki then shows off his combat abilities when challenged by the three Enzyme II units.
Seeking the Guyver, Commander Guyot attacks Agito Makashima and Murakami. He almost kills both with his Gravity attack but the group are saved by a Gravity shield. Told that he has only one more fight, Murakami is healed on once again faces Commander Guyot. Murakami is mortally wounded by Richard Guyot and his body is retrieve by Lord Archanfel. Archanfel saves his life giving him Guyot's Zoacrystal and replaces Guyot (who had betrayed the organization trying to replace Archanfel) as one of the 12 Zoalords.
