Man, talk about jobs I'd love to have: apparently Marvelous Entertainment, the publishers of the game Little King's Story-- which I've mentioned a few times before –are hiring for a new job in Japan. The job title: “royalty”!

The person hired will be required to act like a “real king” for an ad for the new game, and will earn $500 a day from September 3rd to 6th-- that's $2,000.

Unfortunately for the fairer sex, there's already a female talento who'll be acting as queen. Entries are due in by 7am on August 6th (less than 24 hours from now!), but I don't think people outside Japan are really being considered for it, so I don't know how much you'll be interested...

…But...I'm curious! I can't make you a king for a day, but I can send you a goodie bag with some exclusive Comic-Con swag and other fun stuff. So here's what I want you to do: submit your resume in the comments. Your resume can be a standard text format, a video, a song, a haiku, a photoshop, art, whatever. The more creative the better!

As for the goodie bag, you'll have to wait once again for me to be in Portland to ship it off, but I promise you at least one of the exclusive Shunya Yamashita / Marvel posters from Kotobukiya, a Fruits Basket sampler DVD, and a few other manga and DVDs of my choice. Maybe a box set here or there...we'll see. It depends on how much I like the winning entry! (If I reeeeally like it, and you have a Wii, I'll pick you up a copy of the game!)

Sure, I could fill out a resume for why I should be king.  Wait, here's one already filled out in my afro...  *rustlerustle* Wait, what's this?  A crown?  Whoa....  How'd that get in there?  *rustlerustle*  WHAT?  EXCALIBUR!?  That's some serious dandruff man...  *rustlerustle*  THE HOLY GRAIL!?!?!  This enough proof of my kingship?  *slice* Look, I'm actually bleeding BLUE blood!  What more do you want from me?  To go back millions of years and plant life on this pathetic little planet?  Cuz I already did that!    Otherwise, if that's not reason enough, I guess I'll just dig out the resume.  Ahem.  I should be king because I am an otaku FOR the otaku.  My first order as king would be a series of transportational tubes straight to Akihabara in Tokyo.  After that, I think I'll build my castle as a tasteful shrine in the Japanese countryside and retire in otaku glory.  But knowing my luck one of my friends would assassinate me to have the otaku glory for themselves.  Then one of our friends would assassinate them, making sure my assassin gets what's coming to him!  But if I'm not assassinated, my next order would be 1000% more swag in every anime boxed set, and loads more manga boxed sets to look extra groovy in my royal library.  After that, we'll have super-soaker guards patroling the cons and cleansing the fanboy funk from our halls of grandest nerdery.  Once the halls of our sacred Otaku-ism have been cleansed we can start inviting awesome Japanese guests, and with the transportation tubes, we'll be having different cons everywhere everyday, so many that it's impossible to get to all of them.  Of course, that'd make it hard for anyone to get any work done on our favorite hobby, so I'd have to throw this into an alternative pocket universe, or form one where the anime and manga force constantly create, then I can have their alternate selves always hanging out at cons and talking about their works and interests while they're always working on cool new stuff.  That kingly enough for you?  To always have both the works AND the creators on hand?  Knowing only I make it possible?  And not only that, but all licenses would be instantly announced AND released simultaneously, without this "Hey, we got it and we're gonna sit on it for awhile cuz it's so damn big!" crap.  No, King Dragon's Eye studio will handle every anime and manga out there to be license,  The OtaKing listens to his otaku masses, and when he hears what they want, he delivers!  And believe me, Pocky is at the top of the food pyramid!

As the great King of Dreams, I have amassed a collection of anime and spread my knowledge of my favorites and duds across the virtual world of the Internet for over six years now. I show my gratitude for titles that are worth my time and show my utter disinterest in sarcastic fashion. My recent video on Overrated Anime Titles and review record on Mikomi as ggultra2764 is proof enough of my devotion to pointing out the best and worst of the world of anime. I have taken notice of the lackluster quality of many anime titles coming from Japan in the past couple years as many have been romantic comedies, dating sim knockoffs, moe titles and fan service heavy titles. In addition, the raiders known as Equality Now have been creating mayhem and destruction throughout the Lands of Hentai and Eroge. If I am appointed your king, I shall continue to entertain the masses with my informed and witty take on anime, as well as order for more better-quality anime from Japan. Failure to provide such higher quality titles will be punishable by the anime makers taking a car ride with any anime character fitting the "Drives Like Crazy" trope. I will also send the strongest warriors within the anime kingdom to handle the EN raiders so no further trouble comes to the fetishes and perversion enjoyed in Eroge and Hentai. Appoint me as King and I shall make the anime world a better place for everyone!
