A pink-haired girl who runs a dairy farm for the Arakawa residents. However, her lovely smile hides a dark, sadistic side.
Like most of the people living under the bridge on the Arakawa riverbank, Maria's past is shrouded in mystery. The only hints were provided by Sister, that Maria was a soldier or mercenary that fought him during some unnamed conflict in the past. She managed to shave his head bald (except for a single hair) with one quick stroke of a knife, and to this day Sister both dreads having to face her but at the same time finds himself in love with her. Whenever he talks to her for an extended period of time, the scar on his face reopens for no reason at all.
Whenever Maria is in the proximity of another man, she turns into a cruel sadist. Her actions range from passive-aggressive insults to outright rubbing their face in the dirt, and both kinds of actions sting the men of the Arakawa just as harshly.
