Majin Buu

Majin Buu is a anime/manga character in the Dragon Ball franchise

Buu is one of the strongest fighters that Goku has ever faced. Don't let the pink skin and lack of ears fool you he has power beyond that of many of the DBZ fighters.

Origin

Majin Buu is over five million years old, created eons before the beginning of the story by the evil wizard Bibidi in an attempt of galactic domination. The resultant demon wielded an inconceivable amount of power. However, Majin Buu's mind sought only destruction, so Bibidi's only control was to guide the path of destruction. In the anime, 12 Galaxies were destroyed by Majin Buu before he and Bibidi traveled to the Kai Planet, but in the manga, it was only many planets.

Creation

In the same vain as DBZ villains Frieza, Cooler and King Cold, creator Akira Toriyama named the villains of the Buu sagas based on something already existing in a parody fashion. In this case the evil wizard Bibidi, his son Babidi and the monster they employ Buu were named after the novelty song, Bibidi-Bobbidi-Boo.

Character Evolution

Kid Buu

The original Majin Buu was conceived a very long time ago (before the actual story of Dragon Ball takes place) by an evil wizard named Bibidi. He was a virtually invincible force of destruction, but because of his absolutely wild and ruthless nature he could not be controlled even by Bibidi himself.

Buu's only reason for existence was to cause destruction. He reveled in the destruction he brought to the universe. The only reason Kid Buu showed any restraint of his power was to extend the activity of destruction. In other words, the only reason Kid Buu would not kill you immediately was so that he could "play" with you longer.

He is not a sadistic killer seeking to bring pain to his victims, nor does he seek to lord over anything. He merely seeks to have fun in the universe. Only by Kid Buu seeking enlightenment through absorbing other beings is existence spared, and, of course, by a Genki Dama fueled by beings from across the universe and beyond.

Buff Buu

Eventually, Buu and Bibidi made their way to the Planet of the Kais, where Bibidi's sworn enemies the Kais lived peacefully. Buu proceeded into killing both the Western Supreme Kai and the Northern Supreme Kai before encountering the Southern Supreme Kai, the strongest of the Kais. Kid Buu managed to absorb Southern Supreme Kai during their fight, which changed him into a bulkier version of himself (dubbed as Ultra Buu by many fans).

Fat Buu

Buff Buu then made an attempt on the Eastern Supreme Kai's life, when the Grand Supreme Kai came into the scene to challenge Buu. After a brief struggle, Buu absorbs Grand Supreme Kai which results in the childlike Fat Buu who was much less evil than the original Buu. Seeing his opportunity, Bibidi finally managed to seal Majin Buu inside of a magic ball without much resistance from the latter. Bibidi was then killed by the Eastern Supreme Kai afterwards, which meant the madness of Majin Buu was believed to have ended for good. However, the Fat Majin Buu was unsealed many years later by Bibidi's son, Babidi.

Evil Buu and Good Buu

Evil Buu (also known as Thin Buu or Bad Buu as Good/Fat Buu calls him) is the living form of the evil inside Majin Buu. He is created when a deranged gunman named Van Zant shoots Mr. Satan, angering Fat Buu so much that the steam that comes out of his head turns into an Evil Buu. Evil Buu is gray and very skinny, and has a blue cape while Good Buu has a purple cape, but otherwise looks like the original Fat Buu.

The Evil Buu was far more intelligent and mature than the original Majin Buu, showing a greater mastery of his abilities and proving more clever. Despite that, he retained some of the original Buu's traits.

In the FUNimation dub, Evil Buu (called Bad Buu) was voiced by Josh Martin, and in the Ocean dub, he was voiced by Brian Dobson.

Super Buu

Super Buu is the result of Evil Buu eating the Fat Good Buu after turning him into candy. This new Super Buu has a tremendous increase in power, and has an increased mental capacity. In this form Buu has very little patience and has dangerous tantrums, he even holds the power to rip through dimensional walls if he gets angry enough.

Super Buu (Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo absorbed)
This is the form Super Buu took after absorbing both Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo. After the absorption had taken place, Buu gained a massive increase in power (courtesy of Gotenks), and in addition to gaining the ability to use the techniques of the two Z Fighters, Super Buu's intelligence skyrockets and he now speaks with Piccolo's eloquence. He takes on more human facial features, though his head tentacle is far longer than before, mimicking the exaggerated hair acquired at Super Saiyan 3. His short, stubby fingers become long, full-sized fingers. Because Gotenks is his main power source, Super Buu is dressed in the blue and yellow vest unique to the Fusion Dance

Super Buu (Goten, Trunks and Piccolo absorbed)
A sub-version of his previous form, Super Buu loses much in the way of power while retaining Piccolo's intelligence, now wearing Piccolo's cape (as the Namekian is now his primary absorption). Stronger than he was in his original "Super" form (but weaker than he was when Goten and Trunks were still fused), he again becomes inferior to Ultimate Gohan. To slip out of this situation, Super Buu uses a piece of his head tentacle that had been previously severed to absorb Gohan, adding another casualty to his dietary menu.

Super Buu (Ultimate Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Piccolo absorbed)
Super Buu used his head tentacle that Goku had severed earlier to absorb Gohan. His power shoots to an unprecedented level, with his body going through yet more physical changes. He now wears Gohan's familiar orange gi; tentacle atop his head increases in size and width, and his facial appearance closely resembles that of a human being. Super Buu is more confident and boastful than ever before, belittling attempts at stopping him by Goku and the newly arrived Vegeta until they fuse into Vegito via the Potara earrings.

The manga implies that this form is the most powerful form of Majin Buu, thus making him the most powerful villain in all of Dragon Ball Z canon-wise.

Partial Kid Buu and Good Buu

After many chains of events (which includes the Fat Buu murdering Babidi, the fight between the Good Buu and the Evil Buu, and the birth of Super Buu), the original pure evil Kid Buu finally resurfaces, after everybody inside of Super Buu (who absorbed Gotenks, Piccolo, and Gohan) had been removed by Goku and Vegeta (who were voluntarily absorbed when they were Vegito).

The partial Kid Buu lacks the full power he once had with a portion of his power existing in Good Buu, but he is just as evil. He is also completely free of restraint, holding his own against Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Good Buu, and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta. In this form he has no trace of sanity, and because of this is extremely volatile. He retains his childish personality, becoming amused and laughing hysterically at his own destruction of entire worlds.

Uub

Uub is the good, reincarnated version of Kid Buu. Just as Goku defeated Kid Buu with his Super Spirit Bomb, he told Kid Buu that he hoped that he would come back someday as a good person, so that they could fight again. King Yemma overheard Goku's desire and had Kid Buu reincarnated into a human form named Uub. Goku fights him at the World Martial Arts Tournament ten years later. Goku then takes him away to train with him so that Goku would have an apprentice who could protect the Earth. (Note: "Uub" is "Buu" backwards)

Uub would go on to take Kid Buu's place in Dragonball GT.

The Bibidi Story

This is the story as told by Eastern Supreme Kai of the original Kid Buu following its creation by Bibidi. Putting his plan into action, Bibidi and Majin Buu traveled to the Kai Planet, home of his sworn enemies, the Supreme Kais. Majin Buu kills the Northern Supreme Kai and Western Supreme Kai with ease. He then decided to absorb the Southern Supreme Kai which transforms him into a bulky version of himself: Ultra Buu.

Majin Buu attempted to kill the Eastern Supreme Kai, but was halted by Grand Supreme Kai. The two proceeded to battle, but eventually Majin Buu absorbed him. Rather than transforming him into an even deadlier monster, the absorption resulted in an obese, childlike Fat Majin Buu who can now speak and whose destructive tendencies have been greatly decreased due to the Grand Supreme Kai's lax nature. Because of this, Bibidi was initially able to keep him under control.

However, over the weeks, Majin Buu grew tired of Bibidi's orders, and Bibidi used his magic to seal Majin Buu into a Magical Ball trapping the demon inside forever. Bibidi was killed by the Eastern Supreme Kai soon thereafter.

The Babidi Saga

At the World Martial Arts Tournament

The Majin Buu Saga

After being released from his ball by Babidi he has a brief battle with the Supreme Kai and Gohan in which he easily defeats both of them with out really trying. He is then confronted by Majin Vegeta (Super Saiyan 2) who fares far better than Gohan or the Supreme Kai but is ultimately outmatched by the monstrous Buu. Vegeta sacrifices himself in an effort to defeat Fat Buu for good and blows him to pieces. Buu, however, reveals his regeneration technique and comes back to life. Together he and Babidi go on rampage through out Earth searching for Goten, Trunks and Piccolo for there individual parts in almost ruining Babidi's plan.

Their rampage is interrupted by Goku who reveals his Super Saiyan 3 transformation and is able to fight on par with Fat Buu. He then stops their fight and informs Buu that in two days there will be a fighter stronger than himself to fight Buu and give him a real challenge. Majin Buu remembers this through out his transformations and awaits this fight. Soon after their fight Majin Buu turns on Babidi, kills him and goes on an uncontrolled rampage destroying city after city.

A day later he is challenged by Base Gotenks and quickly defeats him., He then build a house made out of humans he turned into clay, where he meets Hercule who attempts numerous times to kill Majin Buu through poison, explosives and even physical assault, all of which fail so miserably that Buu doesn’t even realize that they are murder attempts. Hercule eventually gives up and begins performing maid services for Buu such as cooking for him and giving him baths. While he is living with Hercule, Majin Buu finds a hurt dog by the side of the road and brings it to Hercule, perplexed at why it wasn’t running a way from him. Hercule tells him that the dog is hurt so Buu heals him with his magic. The dog becomes the first creature to show affection to Buu and the first creature Buu shows genuine love for. This causes Hercule to stop trying to kill Buu and instead try to find out why he murders people. Majin Buu tells him that he just does it because Bibidi and Babidi told him to destroy. Hercule tells him that killing people is a bad thing so Majin Buu vows never to do it again.

It seems that the world is saved by Hercule now that the monster has been tamed. All is well until two gunman with the goal of taking on Majin Buu before they died, arrive and shoot the puppy (whom Buu has named Bee) as he is playing with Buu. This causes Buu to become madder than he has ever been but this anger is quelled by Hercule’s disposing of the two gunman and taking Bee back to Buu to be healed. The situation seems fixed as Buu rebuilds his house in the shape of Bee and Hercule resumes his maid tasks. Majin Buu seems fully changed, playing with Bee and even asking Hercule to sit and eat with him. Hercule even destroys the fake pictures of Buu defeated that he had taken showing the evil in Buu is truly defeated. This lasts until the Gunman who shot Bee returns and shoots Hercule in the back. Buu is able to heal him, but the pain of losing his best friend is so great that he struggles to control his anger.

He finally has to expel all the evil in side of him in order to keep control. The evil leaves Buu in the form of a giant cloud taking most of his power with it. What’s left of Fat Buu (now Good Buu) watches as the cloud takes form and becomes Evil Buu. The first thing Evil Buu does after he awakened is to kill Van Zant with an energy blast, before turning to Majin Buu. They argue over who is the real Majin Buu (this is the only time he ever spoke in this form). Then they fight. Evil Buu clearly has the advantage, so Majin Buu tries to turn him into chocolate. Evil Buu blows the attack back at him with his breath, turning Majin Buu into chocolate. Evil Buu ate Majin Buu and turned into Super Buu. He was never again seen in his Evil Buu form except in flashbacks.

The Fusion Saga

Super Buu was formed when Evil Buu turned Majin Buu into chocolate, ate him, and transformed (the transformation was mostly hidden behind pink smoke). He brutally killed Smitty (one of the deranged gunmen responsible for his creation), though the influence of the Fat Buu prevented him from killing Hercule. Now with the ability to sense energy, he made his way to Kami's Lookout where the Z Fighters and many of their friends and family were taking refuge. He demanded to see the strong warrior that Goku told his counterpart about, and when Piccolo, in a desperate attempt to distract him, told him he could amuse himself by terrorizing the people of Earth (knowing they could be revived with the Dragon Balls), Super Buu instead did a Human Extinction Attack, eliminating the entire population of Earth except Piccolo, Hercule, Bee, Tien, Chiaotzu, Korin, Yajirobe, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Videl, Yamcha, Krillin, Android 18, Marron, Master Roshi, Ox-King, Trunks, Goten, Gohan, Dende, Mr. Popo, Oolong and Puar.

Piccolo eventually agreed to take him to Trunks and Goten, but told him to wait an hour. It wasn't until he found out Videl was Hercule's daughter that he accepted. However, Chi-Chi slapped him for killing Gohan, and he responded by turning her into an egg and crushing her. Later, he grew tired of waiting and smashed the hourglass, so Piccolo led him to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to fight Gotenks in there, knowing that if Gotenks lost, he could destroy the entrance and trap Buu (and himself along with Gotenks) inside for eternity. Piccolo deliberately took the longest possible way to the chamber in order to stall him and to give Goten and Trunks more time to prepare. When they entered, it proved wrong the myth that only two can enter at a time. Goten and Trunks fused into Gotenks and fought Super Buu. During the fight, Gotenks punched Buu in the chin, and following this his eyes were red (as opposed to white) and his tongue green (as opposed to red). Soon Gotenks turned Super Saiyan and created a miniature ghost version of himself, called the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack. Not knowing of the attacks true purpose, Buu assaulted the ghost, which explodes on contact.

Though blown to molecules, he survived and regenerated. When Gotenks pretended he couldn't do another attack, Piccolo destroyed the entrance to the chamber, trapping them all inside forever.
Buu yelled "Let me out!", and his voice (though he didn't know it was possible) opened a portal leading out of the chamber, and he entered the outside world and turned everyone on the Lookout (except Dende) to chocolate and ate them, thus Hercule, Tien, Chiaotzu, Korin, Yajirobe, and Dende were the only ones left on Earth (though Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks were still alive and in different dimensions). When Gotenks returned with Piccolo, he was in Super Saiyan 3 form, and fought Buu. They appeared evenly matched, until Gotenks' fusion wore off. As Trunks and Goten desperately searched for a way out of the situation, Buu fell asleep. That is, until Gohan showed up, powered up by Elder Kai, and made quick work of Buu. He blew himself up in an attempt to kill Gohan, though this later proved a way of waiting for Goten and Trunks to fuse again (they must wait an hour before fusing again), as when he returned, he requested to fight Gotenks again.

When they fused together, he absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo, resulting in a more powerful version of himself. This was also the first time the narrator referred to him as Super Buu. Super Buu fought Gohan again and gained the advantage. With no other alternative, Elder Kai gave his life and some Fusion Earrings to Goku so he could go to Earth and fuse with Gohan to fight Buu. At the time, Tien was trying to stop Buu, who was about to blow up the earth when Goku appeared and severed him in half with an energy disk. His lower half kicked Tien and knocked him unconscious. He attacked Goku as Gohan was attempting to find the dropped earring, however Gotenks' fusion wore off inside him, and in turn lost a majority of his power. However, he used his head tentacle that Goku had severed earlier and he used it to absorb Gohan, thus becoming the most powerful villain in all of Dragon Ball Z. Upon his absorption, Buu offered Goku a chance to fuse with whomever he wished. With Tien out cold and Dende needed to use the Dragon Balls, Goku's only other choice appeared to be Hercule, but he later found Vegeta and fused with him to form Vegito.

Vegito proved to be the most powerful fighter in Dragon Ball Z, as he proceeded to pound Buu with hardly any effort at all. Buu's liquid form (that he used on Smitty), turning him into candy, Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, and a giant energy orb (with the intent of destroying the planet) were completely unsuccessful, and he attempted to use his voice to tear through the fabric of the dimensions, but was foiled by Vegito (this was the only real difficulty Vegito had against him). Buu eventually absorbed Vegito, though this was what Vegito was counting on. He wasn't made part of Buu due to a barrier, he separated back into Goku and Vegeta, disconnected Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Piccolo from him, turning him back into the original Super Buu. Realizing this (and having already gotten indigestion from them) he somehow went inside his own head and fought them. However, he seemed to be afraid of the original Majin Buu getting torn down, so that is exactly what Vegeta did finally destroying Super Buu (in a way). They escaped with the absorbed ones (forgetting Good Buu) through the holes in Super Buu's head from where steam comes out of, meanwhile Super Buu (due to having his mind destroyed) assumes a hulking form before getting much smaller, now in the form called Kid Buu.

The Kid Buu Saga

Destruction of Earth
Kid Buu

After he comes to his senses, Kid Buu attempts to destroy the Earth with a small blast, but it is deflected by Vegeta. Kid Buu then creates a massive energy ball and flings it toward the Earth. Goku and Vegeta realize that they can't stop it and make an attempt to escape with anyone they could reach. However, the two are only able to grab Hercule, Bee, and Dende before Kibitoshin appears, grabs onto Goku and Vegeta, and teleports away with Instant Transmission. Gohan, Goten, Piccolo, and Trunks are left as the Earth and everyone else on it is completely destroyed.

Regenerating after the explosion, Kid Buu goes off in search of Goku and Vegeta, teleporting to many planets as he goes and destroying them upon sensing the Saiyans' absence, eventually arriving at the Grand Kai's planet. The inhabitants had no idea who Buu was and took him as a joke before he attacked them. Krillin (who was eaten by Super Buu) was training on the planet at the time and decided to try and attack Buu, but was beat down without much effort on the latter's part. Buu finally prepared to destroy the Grand Kai's planet. To stop his assault, Goku and Vegeta raise their combat powers to draw him the Planet of the Kais, where the final battle for the fate of the universe would take place.

The final battle

Goku and Vegeta then did rock, paper, scissors to determine who will get to fight him first. Goku won and starts out the fight, transforming into a Super Saiyan 2 to start the fight, then later ascending to Super Saiyan 3 to fight Kid Buu. Goku put up a seemingly even fight with Kid Buu, although occasionally Vegeta cut in. After an extremely intense fight, Goku realizes that he let the fight stretch on too long. Goku, weary from the fight, reveals that he had let the fight drag on with Kid Buu, so Vegeta would have a chance to finish him. Goku asks Vegeta to distract Kid Buu for one minute, so he can bring his energy back up to a high enough level to finish him off. Goku tries to go to full power, but he can't because he is too tense to acquire the energy, as a Super Saiyan 3, and comes close to reaching his apex in power before his energy level starts descending again. Vegeta was no match for Kid Buu, before Kid Buu kills Vegeta, Hercule tries to fight him. Kid Buu, looking at Hercule tries to kill him but cannot due to Fat Majin Buu's memories about him. He suddenly spits out Fat Majin Buu. Now, purified of all influence, Kid Buu moves forward to kill Hercule, but is stopped by Fat Majin Buu and engages in combat with him.

Vegeta then told Dende and the Kai's to go to Namek and find the Dragon Balls. When they found them, Vegeta conveyed two wishes to Dende: First to wish the Earth back into existence, and second to resurrect everyone who was killed by Majin Buu, aside from the evil ones. Surprisingly, Vegeta was also brought back to life by the wish. Vegeta told Goku to make a Genki Dama. Vegeta ordered the inhabitants of Earth to lift up their hands to surrender their energy, but they wouldn't listen so Goku tried to convince them. Some people recognized Goku's voice, so they raised up their hands. The energy was still not nearly enough, and most of the people that heard the call ignored it. Mr. Satan was ashamed by the lack of response, so he began to speak. Everyone recognized "the world champion's" voice, and they quickly responded by raising their hands. Fat Majin Buu was almost killed by Kid Buu, so Vegeta stepped in and was crippled by Kid Buu.

Goku could not throw the Genki Dama because Vegeta was in the way. Kid Buu notices the massive ball of energy and stomps on Vegeta. With Vegeta pinned down, Kid Buu began shooting Goku with energy blasts. Fat Majin Buu slammed into Kid Buu, knocking him off of Vegeta. Mr. Satan then carried Vegeta out of the way, so Goku could launch the Genki Dama. Kid Buu was powerful enough the stop the momentum of the Genki Dama, and he began to force it back towards Goku. Goku had already given the rest of his energy to the Genki Dama, and he never thought Kid Buu would be able to resist a Genki Dama of that magnitude. As Vegeta watched the struggle he realized that they still had one more wish on the Namekian Dragon Balls, so Vegeta told Dende to wish for Goku's energy to be restored. With his strength restored Goku powered up to Super Saiyan, and he began to push the Genki Dama into Kid Buu again, completely destroying Kid Buu.

Legacy and Uub

Ten years later, Gohan and Videl got married and had a daughter named Pan. That year Goku, Gohan, Goten, Vegeta, Trunks, Hercule, Majin Buu and Pan enter the World Tournament. Hercule told Fat Majin Buu to win every round, but lose to him on purpose in the finals. He said as a reward, one day Hercule would let Majin Buu beat him. There was also a young competitor named Uub who entered the tournament who was unknowingly Kid Buu reincarnated as a better person. Uub fought Goku but, Uub lost. Goku said that Uub was very strong, but he doesn't know how to control his powers (only being able to draw it out when angered) so Goku stayed in Uub's village for some years, Pan got mad because Goku promised to spend more time with her.

Other Media

In the video game Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2, Super Buu's unique ability to absorb and take on the characteristics of others was portrayed in exclusive absorptions never seen in the anime nor manga:

Super Buu ( Frieza absorbed)
Super Buu ( Cell absorbed)
Super Buu (Vegeta absorbed)
Super Buu (Yamcha and Tien absorbed)

Evil Buu appears as a playable character in the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series, under the name "Majin Buu (Pure evil)." In these games, he can use the Kamehameha but doesn't know the Chocolate Beam. His stats are very similar to Fat Buu's.

Powers and abilities

All forms

Ki Blast, the most basic form of energy wave.

Absorption

Majin Buu fully engulfs and takes an opponent into his body to cause an increase in physical and mental prowess. Majin Buu usually has a severed body part liquefy, or he has a piece of skin fall off of his body. The goo will then sneak up behind the person, and stretch itself to be large enough to accommodate the target. The goo will then leap onto the person. The goo will try to smother as much of the target as it can on the first strike to make the capture easier. If Majin Buu is lucky, the goo will completely cover the target on the first leap. Once the goo is on the person, it will quickly cover up any part of the person that wasn't covered during when it first leaped. Once the target is completely covered, the goo will squeeze and solidify, trapping the person. It is seemingly impossible to escape the goo, no matter what the circumstances (such as Piccolo, who the goo took a long time to cover due to his armor). Majin Buu will then raise his finger up, and the goo will then launch up into the air with the person inside of it. The goo will then fly straight into Majin Buu and cover him.

During the transformation, Majin Buu will become liquid himself, meaning that he is basically taking over the the goo and has surrounded the person with his own liquefied body. He then begins to meld back into solid form, making sure the person is in the center of the goo. The person is shrunken and is put inside Majin Buu's body in a pod. The transformation is long and usually accompanied by loud moans and groans, most prominently heard when Super Buu absorbs Gotenks and Piccolo. Unlike Cell, who took in life essence only through his tail, Majin Buu can perform this technique with any part of his body, even a severed limb, or he can simply liquefy his whole body and cover the victim with himself. When absorbing another being, Majin Buu always takes qualities of their outward appearance as well. He also gains knowledge of their attacks, like Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon, Gotenks' Galactic Donut and Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, and Gohan's Kamehameha. He also apparently possesses the ability to use attacks after seeing it done once, as he does so with the Kamehameha, as well as the Instantaneous Movement when in Kid Buu form.

Body Manipulation and Regeneration

Majin Buu has full control over every aspect of his physical make-up, able to stretch, shape-shift, liquefy, and otherwise manipulate his malleable body; useful as both an attack and defense and as a tool in absorption. He can also regenerate his body at a sub-molecular level, allowing him to survive virtually anything; however, he was unable to regenerate from Goku's Spirit Bomb since it destroyed every atom of Buu. His unrivaled regeneration plus his endless resilience and stamina granted him near-immortality; he is shown at one point to survive the explosion that destroys the Earth. However, it is shown during the fight between Vegito and Super Buu that even his regeneration has its limits; after repeatedly being blow to bits and pounded into oblivion, Buu had to exert more and more effort to restore himself, at one point failing completely for a moment and leaving a gaping hole in his stomach.

Healing

Majin Buu can completely heal another being if he so chooses, even if they are blind or near death. So long as the recipient is still alive, Majin Buu can bring them back to health. He is unable to revive the dead, however. However, Majin Buu did refer to Mr. Satan as being dead when he was shot by Van Zant, and Buu was still able to resuscitate him, implying that Buu can also revive clinically dead persons if not too much time has elapsed.

Planet Burst

A massive ki ball created by Kid Buu by collecting energy in his right palm, enough to destroy a planet the size of Earth in a single shot. Used to not only destroy Earth but many other planets as Buu seeks out the place where Goku and Vegeta were hiding. Like the Vanishing Beam, it is used by virtually all forms of Majin Buu (except for Evil Buu who assumedly knows all of Fat Buu's moves). This technique is called Vanishing Ball in the Budokai series of video games. It was named in the Budokai Tenkaichi series.

Super Buu uses a more concentrated and focused attack, similar to Kid Buu's ultimate technique, on Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks after he catches him off guard. He condenses a small purple ball into his palm and launches it at his opponent. This small but powerful attack sends Gotenks flying and destroys half of Dende's Lookout. He is later about to use the regular version against Gohan and Tien, but is stopped by Goku arriving and cutting him in half. Mr. Buu mostly notably uses it when Kid Buu throws the attack at him. Mr. Buu is knocked down but then responds by throwing the same attack right back at Kid Buu. The technique is commonly called Vanishing Ball.

Vanishing Beam

A technique used many times by Super Buu and is his signature technique. It is usually an average-sized, pink or purple beam fired from the palm. He uses it many times in his battle with Gohan and also uses a smaller version shot from the finger, similar to Death Beam, to end the fusion of Gotenks when he attempted to runaway from the fight.

He also uses an enormous version fired in the same stance used to fire the Genocide Blast, after falling victim to Gotenks' volleyball technique. The name comes from the Budokai series.

Kamehameha

A technique taken by watching Goku use it. Majin Buu’s is pink in color.

Super Kamehameha

The upgraded version of Kamehameha used by Good Buu in his battle with Evil Buu. Unlike his regular Kamehameha it is blue in color.

Chocolate Beam

Majin Buu's unique ability to change objects and living beings around him into inanimate objects such as sweets and milk. Though he usually turns them into foods, Majin Buu has transformed a small population into clay for his house on one occasion during the Majin Buu Saga, and Super Buu once transformed a rock into a toilet. Vegito is the only entity that is shown to able to retain his will or move after being hit by the attack, fighting Super Buu as "the world's strongest coffee candy". Called Chocolate Beam in the Budokai Tenkaichi series.

Renzoku Kikou Dan

Majin Buu fires many ki waves from his fingers at once, Super Buu W/ Gohan used this while chasing Goku and Vegeta.

Chou Makouhou

Buu fires a powerful energy blast from his mouth. Used against Vegeta, Gotenks, and Gohan.

Evil Buu

Because Evil Buu is directly split from Fat Buu it can be assumed he possesses the same techniques.

The only technique unique to Evil Buu was an orange ball of energy similar to Fat Buu's Koukyuu Gata Kikou Ha. Evil Buu charged up the ball and then used it to kill Van Zant. The technique decimated the gunman and the entire mountain he was on at the time.

Super Buu

Wrap Attack

Due to Super Buu's ability to stretch very far, Super Buu can often detain a person by stretching and wrapping his body around them. He can do this with any part of his body, but most often he will usually do this by stretching the area from his chest to his feet around the target very quickly, then constricting before the person can react. Super Buu can also regenerate his body around a person in order for a surprise attack. If the target is particularly strong, Super Buu can stretch and wrap every inch of his body around the target. Super Buu can use this attack to his advantage in various ways.

He will usually just keep the target wrapped up in his body and squeeze the target, hurting them. He will only let go if the person is strong enough to break free (which no one could do but Vegito, due to Super Buu's very strong constriction). If the target is not strong enough, they are at the mercy of Super Buu, and Super Buu will keep them wrapped up to squeeze until the target is dead or he decides to let go himself. Super Buu can also use this attack for other advantages, such as flying at high speeds with Gotenks wrapped up in his torso, then suddenly stopping and and releasing Gotenks, sending him flying into the ground.

Buu Ball

(also used by Kid Buu) Used in the battle against Gotenks and later on when battling Super Saiyan 3 Goku on the Kai Planet, Super Buu contorts his body vertically into a ball before launching himself at his opponent at great speed. The attack was used by all of Super Buu's forms (that engaged in battle) and Kid Buu. Kid Buu uses a a special version in which he detaches his arm and rolls it into a Buu Ball, he then can control it with his finger similar to Yamcha's Spirit Ball. In the Budokai series the attack is called Ill Ball Attack.

Forced Ingestion

Majin Buu liquefies himself and forces his ooze into the mouth of the opponent. He uses this technique twice, once on the accomplice of the gunman who shot Bee. On this occasion Majin Buu engorged the man until he exploded. He uses it once again on Vegito and attempts to take control of his body, this however does not work and Vegito literally beats himself up to force Majin Buu out of his body.

Special Human Genocide Attack
