Maid-sama! Forum

Okay, I know none of you will believe me, but not even a week ago I was thinking that Maid-sama! (or Kaichou wa Maid-sama!), a manga published in Hakusensha's Lala, might get made into an anime. Lala runs Ouran High School Host Club and Vampire Knight-- in other words, their track record for popular anime versions is pretty decent. And it turned out I was right, because now Maid-sama!, which TOKYOPOP recently started publishing, is being developed into an anime.I reviewed the manga not too long ago over here.

The story revolves about an uber-feminist class president who also secretly works in a maid cafe...at least until the one guy at school who won't obey her out of fear accidentally finds out. In other words: expect another maid invasion with LOTS of costumes, and expect it to be pretty fun! Now, here's the DRAMA CD's cast list-- let me reiterate that this is the cast list for the drama CD, NOT the anime, but some of these voice actors might wind up returning for the anime, we just don't know yet.

• Clever would-be hero Takumi Usui: Tomokazu Sugita (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Kyon, Gintama's Gintoki)
• Vice President Yukimura: Hiro Shimono (Kannagi's Jin, Ef's Hiro)
• One of the Idiot Trio, Naoya Shirakawa: Hiroyuki Yoshino (Blood+'s Kai, Gundam 00's Allelujah/Hallelujah)
• Idiot Trio Part II, Ikuto Sarashina: Tetsuya Kakihara (Minamike's Fujioka, the upcoming Fairy Tail anime's Natsu)
• The FInal Idiot, Ryuunosuke Kurosaki: Yuichi Nakamura (Kamen Rider Den-O's Yuuto Sakurai, Kamen Rider Hibiki's Kyosuke Kiriya)
• The maid cafe's chipper owner Satsuki: Rie Tanaka (Gundam SEED's Lacus Clyne, Chobits' Chii)
• Satsuki's brother's kid Aoi: Yuki Kaida (Hetalia's China, Prince of Tennis' Shusuke)

Looks like it'll be a good time. I'm looking forward to it!

@HeeroYuy: Bones did Ouran, but they didn't do Vampire Knight, that was Deen-- no guarantee what studio would wind up doing Maid-sama either. I think gia was just talking about the fact that Lala's best titles tend to get adaptations eventually. 
 
That said, I also think Sugita will be fine as Usui, who's pretty sarcastic. He's got a lot more of a "cool"/badass factor than Kyon, too, so he's different enough for me to enjoy.
