After taking a test for the Ocean Agency, Maia thinks she is sure to be accepted. Unfortunately, when she receives a rejection letter, things quickly go downhill: Maia loses her house, has difficulty finding a new one, can't get a job that would allow her to afford one, and then gets robbed by a pickpocket on the street. That night, alone and trying to keep up her spirits in a rainy alleyway, she gets held at knifepoint by a criminal, and then shot by a scantily-clad girl in red. Is this the end of the story?
