Mahiru is a waitress at the Wagnaria restaurant in the Working!! franchise.
Origin
Mahiru has a deep fear of men and when around them her demeanor becomes very timid and she is prone to intense acts of violence at random. She does this because her father brainwashed her into believing that all men, including himself although this was an accidental side-effect, were evil and out to hurt her. In the series, Sota Takanashi is the primary victim of these attacks. Despite this, the two still maintain a somewhat friendly relationship.
Creation
Mahiru is a character in both Wagnaria!! series, Working!!/Wagnaria!! and Working'!!/Wagnaria!! 2, published by Aniplex with animation production by A-1 Pictures and the 4-panel manga series Working!!, which is published by Square-Enix and serialized in Young Gangan magazine. Her original design is credited to manga writer and illustrator Karino Takatsu while the anime version is credited to Shingo Adachi. Mahiru first appears in the anime series during episode #1 of the original anime series.
