The JZW1 Magnificent Lightning is the latest prototype of Striker Units. Finally completed and piloted by Yoshika Miyafuji.

The JZW1 Magnificent Lightning (JZW1 震電, Shinden)  is the latest prototype for the next generation of Striker Units. It first appeared in Strike Witches 2 - Episode 6.
Striker Units are the tools that the Strike Witches use for flight in combat with the invading alien force called the Neuroi. They work as high-tech, motorized replacements of the classic broom that witches normally used for flight. Other advancements had been attempted in the development of the Striker Unit, namely the failed Jet Striker
A limiter is present on most standard Striker Units as a protection to the magical engine. This only allows for only so much power to be transferred through the Striker. The Magnificent Lightning has no such limiter and can channel far more power than the previous models.
The Magnificent Lightning model is the latest in advancements from the Fuso Empire. It's an original design by Dr. Miyafuji, but due to his death the project was never completed. The key to it's completion was when a letter arrived for Dr. Miyafuki's daughter, Yoshika Miyafuji. In the letter were details that allowed the completion of this project.

Design Base

Based on the Kyūshū J7W Shinden that was created by the Japanese Empire back in 1945. Only two were ever constructed, but never put into service. A jet powered version was being developed called the J7W2 Shinden Kai, but it never got further than the drawing board.
The second prototype is in storage at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC.
