An official site for the new project is online, but it doesn't have a lot of information-- we can expect most of that to pop up at the Tokyo Anime Fair later this month.
“But gia,” you may say, “if it's only 27 years old, how can it be having a 30 anniversary already?” Never fear, my friends-- this is a very early announcement. The project's intended results are set for 2012, the actual 30 anniversary of the show. It'll be the first Momo anime project since the last of four OVAs in 1994. Two TV anime ran for the franchise, the original in 1982 and a re-imagining in 1991. I wonder what this new project will consist of?
