Plot

Alias: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A's (full title), Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha: The Movie 2nd A's

Japan's Release Date: July 14, 2012

This plot is for the anime series since there's no synopsis for the movie.

Yuuno Scraia is a mage from a distant planet working to fix the problem he started when Jewel Seeds were accidentally spread around the world. In a failed attempt to seal a seed properly, he winds up on Earth in the form of a ferret. However, his battle with the seeds did not end upon reaching the Earth and he needs somebody else's help to seal the seeds for him. Takamachi Nanoha hears his telepathic cries for help and comes to his rescue. When she is given a pearl known as the Raging Heart she is able to transform into Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and wield a staff to fend off the evil that lies within the Seeds. In order to help Yuuno complete his mission, she needs to seal all 21 Jewel Seeds away, but Fate may be playing a hand in the matter to prevent Nanoha's goals.

I liked season 1 of Nanoha. I need to see the later seasons including A's. A's was the second season, so that makes me wonder if there will be a StrikerS (season 3) movie someday to follow the first Nanoha movie and this one.

@PenguinDust:

I don't know this series well enough. I think they would have that movie you're talking about because this franchise had a lot of anime series when I look it up.

Huh, I never watch the past shows of this. I guess I'll skip it

@takashichea: Well, I found the first series to be an exceptional example of the magical-girl genre. It both supports that familiar traits we expect from these types of shows and adds some new approaches. It's darker in certain areas, too although not to the degree of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. For example, Nanoha's magic-girl rival, Fate Testarossa is a victim of child abuse. I wrote a blog about it a year or so ago.
