I don't know how many of you remember last year's Otakon, where the convention actually got Madhouse to animate their very own animation for the con's Opening Ceremonies, but apparently it was so popular that Madhouse agreed to do it again . Man, I need to get in with Madhouse, maybe we could get our very own Anime Vice animation!

And I guess I'll have an opportunity, since Madhouse founder Masao Maruyama has also been announced as a guest for the convention, his seventh Otakon appearance ever. (He's attended every year since '01, not including 2004 or 2007.)

I wish I could share a video of Otakon's Madhouse video, but the exclusive screening wasn't filmed (even illicitly, as far as I can tell-- go Otakon!) for any public consumption. Which will probably be the case this year as well, which means that if you want to see it, you'll just have to head off to Baltimore this July!

Lacking said video, here's the opening sequence to Madhouse's Kaiba . 'Cause it's pretty.
