This Franchise is made up of a light novel, a manga and an anime series all under the same name.

Overview

A light novel series written by Toshihiko Tsukiji and Illustrated by Eeji Komatsu that was released starting in October 2001 and is still on going, There has been one manga adaption written by Toshihiko Tsukiji and illustrated by Miki Myashita that was released between December of 2003 and December of 2004 and an anime adaption directed by Shinichiro Kimura that was released between October 2003 and April 2004.

Plot

Kazuki Shikimori, a second year student from an elite magic school, Aoi Academy. Unlike his classmates, Kazuki can only use his magic eight times before he turns to dust. As a result, he is at the bottom of the school's social pecking order.

Suddenly and out of no where he is being chased and propositioned by some of the most powerful girls in school. It turns out that while his spell count is nothing his children due to a long line of powerful magicians have the potential to be extremely powerful and with that bring great power to the family the child is born into.

This series follows Kazuki Shikimori as he fights off all of the sudden attention from these girls and also risk his self to save them.

Kazuki Shikimori a second year student from an elite magic school, Aoi Academy. He always knew his power was limited as he only has the ability to use eight spells in his lifetime. Things change though when it gets out that he is not only the descendant of one powerful magician but many and this gives the girls of Aoi Academy a reason to actually look at him twice but not for his power for his genes and any children he might have has the ability to become a great magician.
Yuna Miyama (宮間 夕菜)

Gender: Female
Yuna Miyama happily follows her families orders to become Kazuki's wife and transfers to Aoi Academy to do so as she remembers him from childhood, he made it snow for her when she was sad about moving again. She is the first to care for Kazuki and not what his genes can give her as she knows he is a good person and truly has feelings for him.
Kuriko Kazetsubaki (風椿 玖里子)
Voiced by: Yuki Matsuoka (Japanese), Tiffany Grant (English)
Gender: Female
Kuriko Kazetsubaki a third year student and a member of the student government at first is only interested in Kazuki's genes and how a child born from him can increase and bring back the wealth and privileged of of her family name though eventually she comes to truly care for him.
Rin Kamishiro (神城 凜)
Voiced by: Yuka Inokuchi (Japanese), Kim Prause (English)
Gender: Female

Rin Kamishiro a swords woman and a member of the Kamishiro branch family she is also told to secure a marriage to Kazuki but at first doesn't feel he is worthy and decides to kill him and rid herself of the trouble. She eventually is won over by Kazuki's kind nature to everyone around him including herself.

Dr. Haruki Akai is the doctor of Aoi Academy, and is a formidable wizard with great powers. He cares for his students and seems to be laid back he does the magic tests through lenses that tell him how many times the students can use spells.

Shino Akai (紅尉 紫乃)

Voiced by: Yoshino Takamori (Japanese), Monica Rial (English)

Gender: Female

Shino Akai is the younger sister of Dr. Haruaki Akai and is a ghost hunter she attempts to capture Kuzuki's ghost for her collection but is stopped by Haruaki. Even though she pursues his ghost she fails to add him to her collection despite having the opportunity to countless times.
Elizabeth (エリザベート)
Voiced by: Kimiko Koyama (Japanese), Sasha Paysinger (English)
Gender: Female
Elizabeth is a ghost of a young girl who was once a member of a noble family during the Holy Roman Empire. After seeing the resemblance to her own mother she adopts Kuriko as her new mother.
Karei Hirosaki (尋崎 華怜)
Voiced by: Emi Shinohara (Japanese), Kelly Manison (English)
Gender: Female

Karei Hirosaki is the boys dormitory manager and is often seen sweeping out in front of them. It is alluded to that she herself had been in a similar predicament before she believes it is better to be alive without your memories than dead with them.
