wow, perfect timing seeing as i just saw Pulp Fiction for the first time a few days ago
and its perfectly fine to root for the bad guy within the confines of a story, is there anyone who watches death note or code geass and doesn't love to see all the manipulations of Light and Lelouch
now if you were to cheer for mass murderers in real life, where stuff actually happens, thats a different story

Trust me, I don't pull for Kira. But there ARE some "gray area" types I'm cool with. Revy and Dutch, of course, come to mind. Balalaika? Not so much.
Then there's Rock during episode #24 of Black Lagoon 2nd Barrage... He didn't pull a trigger, but he may as well have. Assuming of course that Balalaika wasn't ALREADY PLANNING to do it.  And I didn't sympathize with the Kousa boss one bit after how they bullied Washimine into a desperate option. Whether it were Rock or Balalaika, the Kousa boys had it comin'!

I tend to root for who the author wants me to root for. Even though I may not like what they do, I still love seeing what they do next.

Bump to unstick this. Sometimes the villain is the only character that is well written.
