Rokkon and Ayaka fight a werewolf on Tokyo's railroad tracks, only to be out-done by a mysterious group of buddhist monks, calling themselves the Hadja. Their leader Mukyo declares that all future exorcisms in Tokyo would be done by them, and then he departs. Unfortunately, Suimei is out of town and is unable to provide any information on them. However, now that Phantom Quest Corp has competition, Mamouru encourages Ayaka to work even harder to show that she's a better exorcist. Unfortunately, each time she tries to perform an exorcism or capture of a demon she's sniped by the Hadja, who proceed to take all their work. The situation gets so bad that Ayaka is forced to work as a waitress to pay the bills.
While investigating the Hadja, Kouzou discovers they are working for demons themselves. Unfortunately he is caught and captured. When Kouzou fails to turn up for a meeting, Ayaka, Rokkon and Naname investigate. There they discover that the Hadja have been enslaving the demons, just in time to have the demons sicced on them. Ayaka fights the head priest while Rokkon and Naname fight the demons. Ayaka cuts Mukyo's final prayer beed, releasing his ocntrol of the demons and mortally wounding him. Kouzou saves Ayaka from what would have been a fatal flaw, and they almost have a tender moment... until Ayaka pops out of her dress.
