Exhibitionist and member of the Snakes who constantly calls herself Alphard's sister. Liang tries everything she can to prove her love to her sister, but it seems to be an unrequited love.
The tale of Liang Qi is a rather tragic one. Her past is a bit ambiguous, but what does seem to be known is that she met Alphard at a very young age and learned the tools of the trade with her, growing up to become one of Snake. However, she thinks that Alphard changed when she previously fought against Canaan, and as a result did not pay attention to her anymore. As the series goes on, she becomes more and more obsessed with both killing Canaan and earning the approval of her "onee-sama," thinking that accomplishing the former will lead to more of the latter. At this point it was safe to say that Liang Qi had more than "sisterly love" for her older sibling.
First she tries rescuing Alphard after she is captured by the CIA, but even after they airlift her away, Alphard seems to ignore her. Then, after several failed attempts to eliminate Canaan, Alphard tries taking Maria hostage in Shanghai after they attack the world leaders at the anti-terrorism conference in order to draw out Canaan. Again, Alphard seems indifferent and even tries abandoning her when the Americans plan to blow up the convention center. Of course, Liang Qi survives and decides to take matters into her own hands. She takes an armed attack helicopter and tries to bury Canaan underneath a pile of rubble when she visits the Chinese village where the Borners were created, but Alphard actually tries to shoot her down from another chopper, viewing her as little more than an obstacle.
Despite all this, Liang Qi retreats to the Factory, where Snake experimented on the villagers who survived the Ua Virus outbreak. She tricks Hakko into killing her own friend Santana, and then tries to use her grief as a weapon against Canaan, but even that fails. Alphard finally arrives on the scene to meet with her, but with Cummings in tow, claiming that she's curious about this "love" thing that both of them have kvetched to her about. Liang Qi goes full-on batshit insane in this scene as she beats up Cummings in a skimpy kinky bar outfit you'd see in a rated R film, then faces off against her "onee-sama" with a chinese sword proclaiming that she'll kill her out of love and then herself pinning her grief on Canaan. However she only got cut by Alphard where this act seems to turn her on and prove her sister a masochist, until Alphard drops the knife and tells Cummings to continue.
In a last-ditch effort, Liang Qi runs to a different room and swallows a few experimental capsules that seem to give her the power of Synesthesia, even though Cummings warns her that the drug hasn't gotten past the beta stage yet. Liang Qi doesn't care, as she thinks that Alphard will finally pay attention to her. However, Liang Qi's body can't handle the changes, as she starts slowly turning into a crude double of Canaan. Suddenly, she looks in the mirror, she thinks that Canaan is staring back at her and orders Cummings to kill her. Cummings obliges by shooting her in the back, and Liang Qi says she will give him her love in return as blood spurts out her mouth and she falls down dead.
