Let's Go, The Final Battle

Let's Go, The Final Battle is an anime episode of Gurren Lagann that was released on 09/02/2007

A week after the moon stopped falling, Simon tells the Dai Gurren-dan that Viral will join their strategy meetings from now on. Viral says that he wants them to remember that more than just humans want to protect their planet. Leeron says that Rossiu is working on a reconstruction plan for the earth's surface, and then goes on a lecture explaining Spirals (humans) and Anti-Spirals, Viral notes that beastmen were created via cloning, not sexual reproduction; Leeron flirts with Viral and then goes on a lecture about sexual reproduction and genetic diversity...and then sums it up as "love changes the universe" when he realizes he's boring his audience. Simon expresses his intent to find the Anti-Spiral base via an exploration system on the moon.

Viral ponders the strength of humans after the meeting and Simon says they'll get even stronger. Rossiu, meanwhile, visits his old village and even finds the now-ancient village elder there. Together they discuss the sacred book that was given to Rossiu, which they now wonder if it might not be complete junk, since neither can read it. Meanwhile Kinon goes to Simon with an e-mail from Rossiu containing his reconstruction plans and an oddly-worded thank you for her friendship, leading Kinon to worry. Kinon reveals that Rossiu did not take over the government out of any personal greed and even cried after Simon's trial, in which he had been condemned to death. She also remembers that Rossiu used to talk about his old village a lot, so she and Simon head over that way.

Rossiu meanders through the old village, thinking remorsefully on what he's done and deciding to take responsibility for it; he points a gun at his head. Meanwhile the system on the moon transmits an image of Rossiu to Simon and Kinon, and then a portal opens allowing them to transport directly to him. Simon jumps out of the Gurren-Lagann and heads straight for Rossiu, punching him in the face. Simon then says that everyone makes mistakes, and being hit is enough punishment for it.

Simon speculates further and concludes that he needs Rossiu's help, and assists him up. Simon then says that someone else needs Rossiu even more-- cue Kinon running into Rossiu's arms. He apologizes and the three of them board the Gurren-Lagann. Later, the group surrounds Lord Genome's head, which explains at great length how to get to the Anti-Spiral's home world: use their new technology, humanity's spiral power, Nia's ring, and Simon's love for Nia to open up a portal to it. The Gurren-Lagann unites with the moon to create the Chouginga Dai-Gurren, and the newly-uniformed Dai Gurren-dan heads off to fight, leaving Rossiu to handle things on earth.
