Legend of the Galactic Heroes is set in the distant 35th century and details the struggle between the monarchic Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance. Major themes include the morality of war, caste systems, and political corruption. Despite being several decades old the series has never been officially translated into English.
