Kyouko Shirafuji

Kyouko is the 28-year old manager of the Wagnaria restaurant in the Working!! series. She is extremely laid back and while spends most of her time at the restaurant, she actually does very little work and can usually be found eating parfaits or other sweets made by Yachiyo.

While very laid back, she can be extremely blunt when talking to people, including customers, and doesn't take kindly to anyone suggesting that she is old. Her reactions to this have involved:

horrific employee scheduling
implied assault with a spiked baseball bat
recruiting her associates to take care of the offenders

Origin

During her teenage years, Kyouko was a delinquent and gang leader. She befriended an elementary age Yachiyo during her high school years and the two have been friends ever since.

Creation

Kyouko is a character in both Wagnaria!! series, Working!!/Wagnaria!! and Working'!!/Wagnaria!! 2, published by Aniplex with animation production by A-1 Pictures and the 4-panel manga series Working!!, which is published by Square-Enix and serialized in Young Gangan magazine. Her original design is credited to manga writer and illustrator Karino Takatsu while the anime version is credited to Shingo Adachi. She first appears in the anime series during episode #1 of the original anime series.
