The new leader of Tool Toul To, who is the current Pledge Queen and Ikki's official tuner. She is current building the Storm Regalia.
Overview
Kururu Sumeragi holds the title of Pledge Queen and is the leader of Tool Toul To, after inheriting both from her tutor and mentor Ine Makigai. Although shy and sometimes clumsy when nervous, Kururu's skills as a Air Trek mechanic and designer are unmatched. After meeting Ikki by chance in a park she witnesses his passion and anger in hospital after Simca is attacked by Sleeping Forest. From then on she becomes a devoted follower of his and asks to become his tuner. Her skills and fortitude are put to the test as she attempts to help Ikki achieve his dream of becoming the Wind King by attempting to reconstruct the Storm Regalia. This eventually leads her and the rest of Tool Toul To onto Nike and Sora's ship where she must finish the regalia. Without it, Ikki my not survive the coming battle.
Appearance and personality
Kururu has long, scruffy light pink hair (sometimes depicted as blonde), which she has never been able to control. In an attempt to tame it before meeting Ikki her friends decide the only thing they can do is to attach dozens of hair pins to it to try and stop it sticking out so much. It has little effect, but they at least admit that it is cute. She also carried a huge amount of tools around in her clothes, although it's not clear where they are all kept.
Kururu is a shy and timid young woman, and often weighed down with her own insecurities, but as time progresses she begins to come out of her shell. This is partly due to her contact with Ikki, whom she seems to have feelings for, although she has never acted on them. Since meeting him Kururu has developed a new drive and sense of purpose that she always struggled to find by herself, despite her extraordinary talents and the support of those around her. She still gets very nervous and flustered around Ikki but her inner strength and self belief is growing all of the time. Those nerves do not effect her when it count however, and she often displays great acts of courage and self-sacrifices, even at the cost of her own personal safety. At her core, Kururu just wants to protect the people she loves, whatever the cost.
