Kurokami

Origin

Kurokami is a student from Fujimi High School in Tokonosu Prefecture. He's a timid and cowardly young man who's a member of Koichi Shidou's Class 3-A. When the outbreak of Them (zombies) attacked, he survived by sticking with his teacher's group.

Creation

Highschool of the Dead Vol. 1 JPN (2007)

Kurokami is a supporting character of the manga/anime series Highschool of the Dead that was written by Daisuke Sato and illustrated by Shouji Sato. The series first began serialization in Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine in July 2006.

His first appearance was in Hightschool of the Dead Volume 1 CH. 2 "Escape from the Dead", and his first anime appearance was in Highschool of the Dead - Episode 3 "Democracy Under the Dead". His character in the Japanese series is voiced by Shinya Hamazoe, and the U.S. dub produced by Section 23 is performed by Greg Ayres.

Translations of the manga has credited him with the name of Kurokami (黒上), but the translated credits of the Japanese anime show no character with that name. Instead in the roles of the episodes he is voiced, the credits list a Maruyama (丸山). The reason behind this inconsistency in the names is currently unknown.
