Once upon a time, a sorceress named Mahou Tsukai Kurohime managed to unite the people of the world after a long series of battles, and entered through the Gates of Heaven. She tried to bring down the tyrannical reign of the Gods over the world of Man. However, this sorceress was unable to accomplish her goal. As a result, the Gods split her in two parts: Shirohime, the Goddess of Compassion, was composed of Kurohime's better side and joined the Gods. Her darker side was sealed in the body of the little girl called Himeko. Under this contract, Shirohime ensured that the old Kurohime would only regain her powers when she realized true love.
Kurohime, as Himeko, has travelled around with Zero, trying to evade the army of her last servant Onimaru and trying to reclaim her former glory from the Gods. With the ability to create powerful magic spells using her special gun, Kurohime is possibly the most powerful sorceress in the world.
