Kurapika is the last survivor of Kurta Clan. He joined the Hunter Exam in order to become a bounty Hunter to avenge his Clan.
Kurapika came from Kurta Clan and the last person who survived after his clan are killed by the Spider Phantom Troupe. He's willing to become stronger in order to avenge his clan and kill the Phantom Troupe. Just like the other Kurta Clan members, he possesses the ability to change his iris' color into scarlet when agitated.
Kurapika was illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. He made his first debut on Hunter X Hunter Episode #2. He is voiced by Yuki Kaida. In the English Dub, he was voiced by Cheryl McMaster.
In the 2011 Anime, Kurapika was voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro.
Kurapika has a strong will to hunt down all members of Spider Phantom Troupe in order to avenge his clan. He joined the Hunter Exam in order to get qualification and become a bounty Hunter.
Kurapika is calm, ambitious, and talented in fighting. He always hid his Twin Bokken Swords under his shirt.
Kurapika has medium blond hair and blue eyes (Brown in the 2011 Remake). He wore a blue cape-like outer garment with a mandarin collar, with orange hem over a white training cloth alongside with long white pants and green Chinese style flats (Blue in the 2011 Remake). Kurapika is often mistaken to be a woman, due to his feminine look and light voice.
Kurapika is a capable fighter, both hand-to-hand and with his two wooden swords.
As a Nen user, he is capable of using all the basic abilities such as Ren, Ten, Zetsu and Hatsu. Classified as a Conjurer, he is able to create objects out of his aura. Due to his hunger for revenge against the Phantom Troupe, he conjures chains, one for each finger on his right hand, to symbolize his desire to capture the Troupe. During his scarlet eyed state, he becomes a Specialist, allowing him to use all classes of Nen at 100% efficiency (for a Conjurer).
