Kouta

Kouta is a university student who was allowed to live in a hotel owned by the family of his cousin, Yuka, under the condition that he maintains the place. He suffers from traumatic memories of the brutal murders of his father and sister Kanae from Lucy's hands that he mentally repressed. This especially devastated him as he told his sister that he hated her for pointing blame on Lucy. Because of the memories, Kouta shows a strong protective side towards any girls who are in trouble because he feels their problems are similar to what Kanae faced.

He encounters a naked Lucy on the shore of a beach the day after her escape from the institution who reverts to a child-like mentality to avoid confronting Kouta as she was now. Unaware that this was the same girl who killed his sister and father years ago, Kouta invites the reverted Lucy into his house and names her Nyu since this was all the girl could say. Because Nyu was now living with Kouta, Yuka chose to move in with the two where Mayu and Nana eventually settle in with them as well due to their own circumstances they get caught in.
