Kouji makes his first appearance with the rest of Hao's followers in Volume 9. He makes another appearance with Boris, Zang, and Mohamed when they confront Yoh and friends. Under Hao's orders, Kouji's ally, Boris, attacks Lyserg first. When the Yoh's friend makes Boris upset because Kouji looks more vampire than Boris, Kouji gets stab by Boris and Kouji dies instantly. Kouji's body is consume by Boris's cape.
