A first year student at Tomoya's school, Fuko spends her time carving and handing out wooden starfish in order to promote her elder sister's wedding.

Kyou is the older of the Fujibayashi twins. She is aggressive, foul-mouthed and good at cooking. She has a pet baby boar called Botan.

Nagisa is a young girl in Tomoya's class. She is actually one year older than Tomoya, since she is repeating her third year due to a nine-month illness. Nagisa wants to reestablish the disbanded drama club, and her attempt to do so is the main focus of the Clannad anime.

Rie is a member of the chorus club.

Ryou is the younger of the Fujibayashi twins. She is Tomoya's classmate and class representative.

Tomoya is the main character of Clannad.

A second year transfer student who has a history of beating up anyone 'bad' who disturbs the ordinary folk. She is helped by Tomoya in becoming the student council president.

Sunohara is Okazaki's delinquent friend, and they often skip school together. He was once a member of the soccer club, but got kicked out after a fight. Youhei has a younger sister, Mei Sunohara.
