Japan's largest book publisher.
Originally founded by Seiji Noma in 1909, Kodansha has grown to become Japan's largest publisher, and a significant media conglomerate as well. Kodansha now owns the Otowa Group, whose subsidiaries include King Records and the publisher Koubunsha. The company is also a major sponsor of Tokyo Disneyland.
They also publish a large number of English language book on different subjects about Japan from language to arts and craft, to martial arts as well as translated fiction from Japan.
On October 30, 2013, Crunchyroll has partnered up with Kodansha to legally stream few key manga titles for audiences outside of Japan.
