HistoryOriginally founded by Seiji Noma in 1909, Kodansha has grown to become Japan's largest publisher, and a significant media conglomerate as well. Kodansha now owns the Otowa Group, whose subsidiaries include King Records and the publisher Koubunsha. The company is also a major sponsor of Tokyo Disneyland.
They also publish a large number of English language book on different subjects about Japan from language to arts and craft, to martial arts as well as translated fiction from Japan
