Saber is hot on the trail of Rider, much to his delight. Meanwhile, Kiritsugu sets off on a different lead. The new player, Matou Kariya, watches in the background as his play unfolds perfectly.
After Kiritsugu closes Maiya's eyes, Saber continues to pursue Rider (Berserker) through the city on her motorcycle. After she loses track of Rider, she senses his presence and pursues the real Rider. At the storeroom, Kiritsugu realizes something, and Saber uses her magic, Invisible Air, to boost her motorcycle's speed. In response, Rider carves intro the wall to create a rain of rubble on Saber. However, Saber dodges all of the rocks, and Rider uses thunder to create more chaos. Saber uses her sword to jump across the cliff. She clashes with Rider's sword, and she notices Iris is not there. Later, Kiritsugu has someone at gunpoint and asks him about Kariya. When the man does not answer, Kiritsugu shoots the man's leg. Kiritsugu realizes it is Kirei's doing when the man mentions Kariya leaving with an observer of the Church.
On the top of a bridge, Kirei pats Kariya's shoulders, and Kariya asks him if it's worth using up two Command Seals. Kirei gives Kariya more Command Seals to replace them, and he notes how the Noble Phantasm is wasted on Berserker. Kariya informs him that he can take the guise of other heroes, and Kirei notes how Berserker is obsessed with Saber. After Berserker leaves, Kirei tells Kariya to show up at the Church around midnight. When Kariya leaves, Kirei tells Zouken to appear. At Saber's location, Rider tells Weaver that he will take on Saber and that he wants Saber to join his army. Rider charges at Saber who uses Excalibur on him. During Zouken and Kirei's conversations, Kirei asks him if he enjoys watching his son suffer, and Zouken remarks how both Kirei and Kariya have the same smell, a maggot. Immediately, Kariya throws his swords at Zouken who is actually made of insects. Kirei notices Excalibur's attack from his location. In Saber's battle, Rider saves Weaver and tells him that he has mess up. Weaver orders Rider to activate his reality marble, but Rider states he cannot spend anymore mana. Saber leaves them, and Rider marvels at Saber's motorcycle.
Meanwhile, Kariya wonders how much he can endure as he arrives to the Church. He spots Tokiomi only to realize that he has been yelling at Tokiomi's dead body. Then, Aoi Tohsaka arrives to the Church and sees her dead husband on the floor. She walks up to Kariya who is scared. Aoi asks Kariya if he is satisfied with killing Tokiomi and taking away Sakura, and Kariya states that this is not his fault. She yells at Kariya that he has never loved anyone while crying. Kariya explains that he did love someone and that he would give his life for that person. He grabs Aoi and chokes her to death in rage. Kariya looks at Aoi's face and cries in fear at what he has done. He tries to walk away, and Gilgamesh drinks as he observes the incident. Kirei tells Gilgamesh that the taste of wine is intoxicating and that he would like to experience it again.
