Kisame, a Rouge from the Villiage Hidden in the Mist, works with the Akatsuki. He is also the strongest swordsman out of the 7 they are in the Hidden Village of the Mist
Kisame was from the Village hidden in the Mist. He looks like a shark and has the teeth of one. He has the greatest amount of chakra of all Akatsuki, possessing chakra equivalent to 1/3rd of the Nine Tailed Fox's. He is very overconfident in battle. He is also very hysterical in jokes. He once proposed to cut off Naruto's legs so he cannot run instead of knocking him unconscious. He works well with his partner Itachi also. During battle, he does not even need water. He can bring up the water from the ground so he could use his water techniques to trap you or injure you. He can create the ultimate battle field for him.He can also summon sharks that can attack when you are under his water. They are chakra based sharks that can steal your chakra or just injure you. He is also incredibly strong and fast.
Kisame and Itachi are the only shown Akatsuki team that gets along. Kisame was first shown in the Return of Itachi arc with Itachi Uchiha. Kakashi was waiting for Sasuke at a Dango house when he happened to see Asuma and Kurenai. Sasuke finally arrived and noted how odd it was to see Kakashi there before him. Two cloaked customers sat drinking tea nearby almost instantly disappear with Sasuke's arrival. Kakashi nodded to Asuma and Kurenai, and they both took it as a sign to
chase the mysterious people down, leading them to a bridge, where Asuma and Kurenai have The two people reveal themselves, only to see that it was Itachi Uchiha. Kisame introduced himself also, seeing as he thought it would be polite.Asuma decides to take Itachi and Kisame down right then and there, and the battle began. Kisame revealed his large blade and was able to fight and hold his own with Asuma, though it is noted that this was not Kisame's full power, because Itachi had told him not to attract attention. Eventually Kakashi came to everyone's aide, only to be defeated by Itachi's Tsukuyomi technique. Kisame and his partner decided to make a run for it after Guy showed up to help.
Pein used his Shape-shifter technique to create a perfect copy of Kisame (albeit possessing 30% of Kisame's chakra) to stop Gai's team while they were trying to rescue Gaara. Kisame wanted to toy with Gai whom couldn't remember him, but Gai's teammates proved to be troublesome and he managed to trap them in Water Prisons while he and Gai fought. The fight was even, and Gai was even capable of robbing Samehada from Kisame's herculean grip twice overall, however the second time he attempted to use the sword himself and it wounded his hands. However the threat of his students drowning prompted Gai to release 6 of the 8 gates and quickly dispatch Kisame, who reverted back into the person used for the technique. Kisame was controlling the clone from a distance and was quite amused.
Later, Kisame was sent with Itachi to capture Roushi, the Yonbi Jinchuuriki. Kisame stopped Team Hebi and asked Sasuke to go alone to face Itachi and stayed to make sure the others didn't follow. While waiting, Kisame remembered Suigetsu and the two decided to fight to kill some time. Their fight was interupted by Zetsu when he came to get Kisame and they brought Team Hebi to meet with Sasuke. While in the conference room, Suigetsu was aggitated and attacked Kisame, but Madara stopped him. Kisame then helped to extract the Eight-Tailed beast after Team Hebi, now calling themselves Team Taka, captured Killer Bee. But found that Sasuke was tricked into carrying back a tail of the Eight-Tailed beast. After Madara revealed his identity, Kisame recognized him as the former Mizukage.
Madara sent Kisame to capture Killer Bee after Sasuke failed, and found him being taught to sing enka by Sabu. When Kisame appeared, Sabu's racoon summon, Ponta attacked, but was knocked aside. Sabu then attacked Kisame himself with a giant axe, this is when Killer Bee threw an electrified pencil at Kisame. Kisame managed to avoid it and counter attacked by flinging Samehada at Killer Bee, but he also dodged. Sabu attacked with his giant axe but Kisame blocked it, however Killer Bee threw one electrified sword and attacked with his other, the thrown one stabbed Kisame in the arm but Kisame managed to block Killer Bee's attack with Samehada, which absorbed the lightning chakra around it.
While in a contest of strength, Killer Bee used his 4-tailed form and tried to headbutt Kisame, but Samehada absorbed it the Bijuu's chakra shroud. Samehada grew twice as large and it's revealed to have a mouth with sharp teeth and a tongue. Killer Bee used a 7-tailed Bijuu chakra shroud and attacked, but Kisame managed to dodge and absorb 6 of the chakra tails. Since that didn't work, Hachibi wanted Killer Bee to release him but Killer Bee refused, saying that Sabu and Ponta could end up getting killed and anyone nearby would spot him and tell Raikage. So Killer Bee used an 8-tailed Bijuu chakra shroud and attacked Kisame again, it was too much for Samehada to absorb and Killer Bee tore Kisame's chest open. However before Kisame died, he fused with Samehada, it covered itself around Kisame's body, healing him and turned him even more into a shark with all the chakra Samehada absorbed. He then used Great Exploding Water Shockwave and then used Water Prison Shark Dance to turn the battlefield into a giant dome of water, taking advantage of his his new form. Sabu said that Killer Bee has to get the sword away from Kisame, but Kisame taunted them by saying they can try.
Killer Bee tried to get Sabu and Ponta out of the water before they drowned, however there didn't seem to be any end and Kisame was right behind him. Hachibi told KIller Bee that the dome of water is moving with Kisame, so if he wanted to save his friends, he had to get Kisame to go in the opposite direction. Killer Bee tried this, but Kisame went to attack Ponta and Killer Bee tried to stop him, then Kisame turned and attacked KIller Bee. Killer Bee used a partial transformation to make the Hachibi's tentacles to come out of his body and wrap around Kisame and pulled him away
from Sabu and Ponta, but Kisame was draining chakra from Killer Bee while he did this.
Killer Bee decided to spit ink to blind Kisame and try to get out of the water before he ran out of breath, but Kisame could detect his chakra and started attacking. Seeing that Killer Bee was drowning, Kisame ended his jutsu and transformed back and was about to cut off Killer Bee's feet... but Samehada attacked Kisame, Samehada chose Killer Bee and started giving him chakra. This prompted Kisame to kick Samehada away and just use one of Killer Bee's swords. Kisame was about to cut off Killer Bee's leg, however he was stopped by the Raikage and his bodyguards who saw Kisame's giant water jutsu and sensed Killer Bee's chakra. Raikage and Killer Bee then attacked Kisame at the same time, decapitating Kisame.
Zetsu later revealed that the decapitated body was one of his clones and that the real Kisame had been hiding inside Samehada in order to infiltrate Kumogakure. The sword itself was taken by Killer Bee, who planned to use it as his new weapon. While Bee attended, and does not pay attention to, a discussion of tactics for the approaching Fourth Great Shinobi World War, Kisame took notes on the village's plans and military strength.
To protect them from Akatsuki, Bee and Naruto Uzumaki were sent to the island in the Land of Lightning. After Bee helped Naruto to tame the Nine-Tails, Naruto was able to sense Kisame's hatred within Samehada, despite him and Samehada's identical chakra. Discovered and outnumbered, Kisame took Samehada and tried to escape, but Naruto used the new speed granted to him by the Nine-Tails to stop him. Naruto was so fast, in fact, that his foot got stuck in a wall, allowing Kisame to continue his bid for freedom.
As soon as he exited the Falls of Truth he ran into and was attacked by Might Guy, who believed Kisame was his inner self. Although Guy realized Kisame was not his inner self, he still didn't remember him, instead believing him to be a blowfish. Samehada abandoned Kisame and returned to Killer Bee. Kisame stole some chakra from the both of them to revitalize him after being within Samehada for so long. Aoba Yamashiro tried to neutralize him with Secret Technique: Stone Needles, but this only enabled Kisame to absorb his chakra as well. Kisame then swam away and tried to make it off the island, and when he reached the shoreline, Kisame summoned a shark and gave it a scroll.
Guy tracked him down and, seeing what Kisame was doing, tried to stop the shark. Kisame then used Water Release: Thousand Feeding Sharks to conceal it and overwhelm Guy. When Guy's Morning Peacock couldn't destroy all of the sharks, he opened the seventh chakra gate, blocking the sharks' route. To get rid of Guy, Kisame used Water Release: Great Shark Missile Technique, and Guy countered with his Daytime Tiger. Although the Great Shark Missile grows stronger when used against chakra-based attacks, Daytime Tiger was composed of "youthful" air pressure. It overpowered and defeated Kisame, as well as destroyed all of the remaining sharks.
Though defeated, Kisame was annoyed that Guy still didn't remember him and tried to keep fighting, so Guy knocked him unconscious. Yamato restrained Kisame and Aoba read his mind to try and gather intelligence on Akatsuki. When Aoba came across memories of Madara's face and his promises of ending the "world of lies", Kisame bit off his own tongue to force himself awake and broke free of his restraints. The Kumo and Konoha-nin tried to subdue him, but Kisame trapped himself with the Water Prison Technique. Before he was completely immobilized, he summoned three sharks and made them consume him alive. Within his final moments, he realized he was not as terrible as he once thought, as he was willing to give his life to protect the cause he believed in.
Seeing how far Kisame was willing to go for his comrades, gaining new respect for his adversary Guy vowed to always remember him. He and the others attempted to read the scroll that Kisame tried so hard to send, but found that it was booby-trapped; they were each caught in a Water Prison with a shark. Another shark took the scroll and swam away with it, which eventually found its way to Zetsu.
