In the same manner that Kingdom Hears Re:Chain of Memories brought Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories from the Game Boy Advance to the Play Station 2 platform, KH Re:Coded is a remake of the NTT DoCoMo game for Nintendo DS in English.
During E3 2010 a trailer of the game was shown which today was made available to watch on the internet.

The plot of this game is based on the events that take place after KH2 following the story of Jiminy Cricket, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy as they uncover a mystery found in the Jiminy's journal. Jiminy's curiosity about the line "Thank Naminé" in his journal results in him finding a message that he did not write: "Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it".
By recreating a Sora clone out of data, they must figure out what the entry in the journal meant, which then means they must retrace their steps into uncovering this mystery in 8 different chapters of similar gameplay to that of the KH 358/2 Days game.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded will be released in North America, Europe and Japan on the Nintendo DS by the end of this year.

So what do you think?
Will you continue to see what's in store for the KH franchise?

The problem is with the Kingdom Hearts franchise is they have a habit of just doing the same thing over and over. I really like the universe and characters but I often find the gameplay a but dull. I do think the latest one with Roxas in did take a step in the right direction thanks to the new leveling system (then again it did take two steps backwards as you don't get to talk to anyone bar Organization 13 characters and one moogle plus there's hardly and worlds to visit). but so saying that I'll probably end getting it anyways just see where it takes the story line.

I sorta wish they wouldn't go over the same events and/or time period from a different perspectives all the time, especially since I'm long since tired of the Agrabah, Olympia etc levels.

With that said, I'll probably get this unless it seems absolutely terrible. KH3 can't be announced soon enough though. Actually, Birth by Sleep will probably hold me over for a while when it's out.

coded is considered the weakest game in the franchise, but that music brought back so many memories.  I'm buying it

I'm glad this game is getting released outside of Japan.

I think Birth by Sleep will be the next step up... meanwhile this is good to know what happens after KH2

Awesome.  As long as it plays even SLIGHTLY better than 358/2 Days, I'll be happy.
Can't wait.

@ImperiousRix: I never really had a problem with how 358/2 Days played it was more the repetitive missions and how often the worlds where re used. I really quite liked the level system though. Sorta like stationary Tetris X D
