"Kids on the Slope" (Sakamichi no Apollon) is a TV anime adapatation of the award winning manga by Yūki Kodama.
Overview
This series marks the return of Shinichiro Watanabe as Director of a TV anime, after the 2004 series Samurai Champloo.
The story revolves around Kaoru Nishimi a boy who is constantly moving due to his father work. He is accustomed to be an outcast and whichever school he attended, the first days had become a routine to him, until he starts to get along with Ritsuko Mukae the class-president and Sentaro Kawabuchi a problematic classmate, and their friendship grows based on the mutual love for music.
Sakamichi no Apollon takes place in a remote Town of Kyushuu Island in the Nagasaki Prefecture, late 1960's Japan.
