Kibitsu Momoka News

Kibitsu Momoka is a anime/manga character in the Sket Dance franchise
| |

Welcome to the Weekly Sket Dance report! This week, we have another strange episode that involves Switch's latest invention and a test of Hime's Tsukkomi skills.

Plot

Himeko vs Komiyama
Himeko vs Komiyama

Switch introduces his latest invention, Braviera, that can pick up animal's thoughts and translate it within a 5 meter radius. Things go wrong when Braviera starts picking up thoughts of the Sket Dan crew, and the Sket Dan start getting into an argument. Will the Sket Dan kiss and make up?

In the Roaring Laughter Tsukkomi Battle, Himeko faces off with Komiyama to help Momoka and show that she is the best Tsukkomi. Will Himeko win?

Verdict

Good

Oh Roman
Oh Roman
  • Bossun and Himeko are a natural comedic duo with Himeko whacking him with Tsukkomi.
  • Even thought the Sket Dan gang thought Hosuke say those kind words, it turns out to be Roman. She thinks some weird stuff.
  • Bossun's bashful face is damn contagious.

Bad

  • The first part of the story is weak and a bit slow while the 2nd story is the most funny one.
  • Awkward fan service: During the beginning, there is an awkward shot where Saaya just walks up to Bossun who is looking at her chest.

Overall, this episode is good since the first part is a bit slow. It's a bit of hit or miss with some folks because some parts are funny while some are not.

Welcome to the weekly Sket Dance blog! I'm Taka of Team W.I.K.I. Nation reporting on the latest episode and wiki progress for Sket Dance. Last episode was all about Bossun, and this week's episode focuses on Momoka and Switch.

Plot

When Switch gets a ticket to Momoka's concert, his computer and laptop breaks leaving him speechless. Bossun, Hime, and everyone asks Switch why he has been going to Momoka's concerts; Reiko requests Switch to get Momoka's autograph.

Will Switch get backstage with Momoka?

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

Lil Bossun is Lil Sasuke's boss
Lil Bossun is Lil Sasuke's boss
  • Despite that Switch has no laptop to communicate, he still makes the viewers laugh with his sketchbook.
  • Momoka and Switch had a great scene, and when Switch breaks the scene's tempo with the nice piano soundtrack, I expected that. In the end, Momoka has a devoted fan who always support her, Switch's Sketchbook. It's a lovely ending.
  • Biscuit Dance's stories are so darn cute. I love how Sasuke became braver with Agata separates him from Bossun, his "den mother."

Bad

  • As much I want Switch to express some emotions, he cannot due to his tragic past. He doesn't speak, but at least, he should smile!

Bizarre

She wears glasses?
She wears glasses?
  • Reiko's new quote: Oh my Satan is pretty hilarious. I loved her new catchphrase.
  • I have been debating why Switch is going to see Momoka in her concerts just to show his support. I feel there is something more in Switch's intentions, and Momoka is pretty curious as well.

Overall, this is another great episode that focuses on another pair of characters and their relationships, Switch and Momoka. Plus, the Biscuit Dance is a nice change which is refreshing to the normal two story episodes we have been watching.

Overview

Welcome to the Sket Dance weekly report by Team W.I.K.I. Nation. Right now, I'm contemplating about stopping the Sket Dance reports because I got multiple anime projects with its weekly reports. Don't worry fans, Sora_thekey will provide coverage on the Sket Dance anime. He's a new member to our team. Please welcome him. He's more funnier than me. It's more time effective to work on the wiki and provide images while Sora does the reviews.

It's teamwork.

Plot

Ep. 42: Suddenly, Momoka's Road to Being a Stage Actress - "Yaniwani Momoka butai joyū e no michi" (やにわにモモカ舞台女優への道)

This episode has two stories about Momoka, Hime, and Roman. The first one is about Momoka who asks her friends to help her gain a deeper insight into a script for her audition in a play. The second story begins with Hime wondering what career she would have in the future, and when Switch brings up Roman, Roman appears and brings good news. She has made her first debut as a manga artist.

Will Momoka understand the meaning behind the script, will Hime know what she would become in the future, and did Roman really made her debut as a manga artist?

Find out by watching Sket Dance on Crunchyroll.

*This episode is based chapter 99 (vol. 11) and chapter 78 (vol. 9).

Verdict

Beware of Spoilers!

Good

There's so many hilarious scenes in this episode. I pick the best three, and you guys do the same.

  • Bossun and Momoka's acting scenes ends so randomly. Out of nowhere, Bossun hands Momoka, an Anthony action figure.

  • Bakuman Reference: Roman just makes me laugh hard when I made the connection. Will she and Fumi make their anime debut? I think so since the judges showcased Roman's work, Sudden Temptation.
  • After Bossun and Momoka make Japanese words sound like English words, Bossun ends it with Shinji running away. See this pun, Shinjirarenai (Unbelievable) sounds like Shinji run away.

Bad

Sudden Temptation = old gags
Sudden Temptation = old gags
  • There's not much bad things in Momoka's story. However, Roman's second story seems like her other story where she shows off her nonsensical story for the first time. Not to hurt the Roman fans, but the humor seems stale. No offense though. Roman should show off more herself instead her silly manga story. She is one of the funniest girls in the series. I liked her alien call, her rivalry with Switch at drawing Bossun, and her drive to please Bossun, her "prince."

Bizarre

  • Roman's Alien Call
    Roman's Alien Call
Roman's "Tee Hee" and sound effects are bizarre, but it suits Roman. Her alien call is the best I find her crying scene cute. Not to sound weird, okay guys.
  • Why is Momoka's singing "Nervous" so catchy? It didn't stick with me.
  • Momoka's luck streak in her career is unbelieving lucky. She is a delinquent whose performance in the puppet episode got her career in voicing anime characters. She's a pop idol, and now she's an actress. Sket Dance really likes pop idol culture. The most obsessed guys who love anime and pop idols are Otakura and Switch, of course.

Overall, I find this episode enjoyable and give it a four out of five. Momoka's story is better than Roman in terms of humor. Roman just needs to show off more of her quirky personality and less of her craptastic drawings.

I would like to see Switch, Sasuke, and Roman participating in a crappy drawing show off. I mean artist showoff contest. Plus, I haven't seen much of Roman's Otome filter.

Trivia

I add some folks.

Thanks

Thank you guys for reading my team's report. I'm postponing the Sket Dance reports until summer, so please visit Sora_thekey's weekly Sket Dance reports. I thank my team for doing a fantastic job. Overview

Welcome to another weekly Sket Dance report! (More like biweekly, it doesn't sound pleasant enough). If you guys know my teammates of Team W.I.K.I. Nation, they are Annabanana, KuroNekoXIII, MohsinMan99, HalberdierV2, Hibaru, and Piface314. I will also mention a friend of our team, Sophronimos, who is a great wiki editor. He worked on Sket Dance and Gintama from time to time. Let's discuss these two lovely Sket Dance episodes, 38 and 39. 38 was the last episode for 2011 while 39 start off the New Year.

For Image Lovers: Please see ep. 39's gallery and for 38, check my profile's gallery marked Sket Dance. 38 is Anna's wiki page, so I didn't want to upload images if she already had images in her computer. I can't have all the fun. :)

Plot

Ep. 38: Kigurumi Break - "Kigurumi bureiku" (きぐるみぶれいく)

Specter and the gang
Specter and the gang

The Sket Dan takes Remi's request to fill in the mascots for the show, Together With Mommy. However, things go awry when Sket Dan get locked in a storage shed. Will Sket Dan get free before the show can begin?

Ep. 39: One Broken, Special... New Year's - "Kowarete shimatta tokubetsu-na ...shōgatsu" (壊れてしまった特別な…正月)

Special Mariko Broken!
Special Mariko Broken!

SKET Dan plays another game with Yamanobe, and this time, they are playing Special Mariko Broken, a video game about the main heroine and her romantic relationship with her boss. This episode has a bonus clip or montage of events that happened in the anime with some comedic twists.

Find out by watching Sket Dance! You can watch them legally on Crunchyroll.

Verdict

Characters

From left to right, we have the mascots for the show, Together with Mommy. Bossun is Specter, Hime is Phantom, and Switch is Bogey.
Mariko
Mariko
Mariko is the main heroine and she is based on Mario from Super Mario Bros. According to Yamanobe, she is in a relationship with her manager. I don't know why she is fighting her boss at the end of the game. The Kanji for Mariko, マリコ, can be changed to the Kanji Mario, マリオ, by changing one Kanji.
Luigiana
Luigiana
Luigiana is the twin sister of Mariko, and she is based on Luigi from the same game. She helps Mariko beat her manager. The same changes is similar to Mariko. The Kanji for Luigiana, ルイジアナ, can be changed to the Kanji for Luigi, ルイージ , by changing one Kanji.

Beware of Spoilers!

Good

  • Ep. 38

You can't even use your hand to save your life
You can't even use your hand to save your life
  1. This episode clearly shows you that the best plan can goes wrong.
  2. We get to see Momoka and her gang entertain the crowd with her Yankee improv.
  3. Bossun's intellect gets tested to the extreme. There's so many obstacles in order to get out of the damn storage room.
  • Ep. 39

Eringi madness
Eringi madness
  1. The video game references are awesome. By that main image, you can see the Super Mario Bros allusion. There are several points of interest involving eringi instead of mushrooms and the names of these heroines.
  2. The story has a nice montage with Reiko's twist. I loved Reiko. I put it in a spoiler block. It's like a present for those who watch the episodes!
  3. Roman's pun is such a nice scene of breaking the 4th wall. (see wiki page's points of interest on ep. 39)
  4. For Shinzo, Roman, and Reiko fans, there are good montage scenes.

Reiko just wants the spotlight.

Bad

  • There is not much bad things about these episodes. I didn't like Hyperion or Genesis, but this time, Yamanobe did okay for me.

Bizarre

  • Ep. 38

  1. Not much bizarre things. The only thing I noticed is how everyone love their idols just like how we loved our celebrities in America. The only difference is that Japanese idols are younger.
  • Ep. 39

Naughty scene, perhaps?
Naughty scene, perhaps?
  1. Why was Switch teasing Luigiana a bit before he went off the beat the game?
  2. Why do we have a random Moe character?
  3. Comment on Crunchyroll made my day. "She totally deepthroated that fish" by OldThrashBar
  4. The ending credits had Mariko and Luigiana eating eringi in a suggestive manner. Or maybe my mind is in the gutter after reading that comment about Reiko deepthroating that fish.
  5. Speaking of dirty things, that candy came out of the controller look like a tentacle to me.
  6. Off Tangent Thing: I did a weekly report on Beelzebub where they had a video game parody, too. I find Sket Dance a little funnier than Beelzebub in parodying video games.

Overall, these episodes are fantastic but not perfect. There's no drama or sadness which is great. Because the last two episodes were about Hime's origin story, the staff ended and began the year with hilarious stories. Those origin stories are like diamonds in the sea of laughing gas.

Taka's Amateur Stitched Cap

Since Anna is on vacation for R & R with the rest of my teammates, there is no Anna's Stitched Cap Gallery section. I searched for a stitched cap for these two episodes with no luck. (In Fairy Tail Wikia, they have nice stitched caps.) Sadly, Sket Dance Wikia doesn't have one, but they have a nice image gallery. I decided to make one myself. I picked Momoka because I have a soft side for tomboys. It's not perfect because you see on Momoka's right arm where some portions is darker than others. I have no idea why. I find the matching the fingers and hair difficult. Please enjoy my amateur stitched cap of Momoka and her gang. Thank you.

If there's anyone who's good, please give me some advice. It's my first time of making a stitched cap.

Overview

Welcome to the eight weekly article of Sket Dance! I'm your host, Takashichea. By now, you have heard of Team W.I.K.I. Nation; if you have not, please visit our team's blog. My great teammates are Annabanana, KuroNekoXIII, MohsinMan99, HalberdierV2, Hibaru, and Piface314. Please follow these individuals because they making history in our community. Back to Sket Dance, this week's episode is a riot. I promise that you will laugh and cry.

Plot

Like most Sket Dance episodes, this episode has two parts that covers two manga chapters. Let's break it down.

Episode 30: Crank the Crank-nyora! See IMAGE Gallery as well.

First Story: It's about an addiction or a compulsive obsession disorder on little toys. I don't have the exact name for these toys but the machine is called a capsule toy vending machine. They are toys that you get in those slot machines and come in a ball. You get a surprise. Anyway, Hime, Bossun, and Switch have an adventure collecting toys in front of a shop. Will Sket Dan get over their addiction?

Second Story: Momoka visits Sket Dan, and she has a complete character change! Her old friends tell Sket Dance to change her back into her rough, Yankee delinquent self.

MOE!
MOE!

Will Sket Dan be able to restore Momoka to her old self or will they lose her forever?!

*That image really did spoil those that who haven't see the anime. Oh yes, I do not have a fetish for Moe characters. Switch and Otakura does.

Verdict

Beware of Spoilers!

Good

Aw! HIme don't feel left out. They're bad friends and dumb boys.
Aw! HIme don't feel left out. They're bad friends and dumb boys.
  • For the first story, at least some of the action figures/toys look good.
  • Switch and Hime's attack on the photographer is awesome. In this episode, you'll see the true side of the Onihime.
  • Momoka may have changed back, but she is the same old girl. Don't ever change Momoka!
  • Hime has a fondness for cute things. It's funny to see a tomboy get so passionate about cute things; it's cute when she gets left out of the boys' things. Recall from the Hyperion game, she got mad. I wish they get another female character, or Sket Dan could get Momoka. That'll alter story. Oh well. Being the only female member can be hard.

Bad

  • The first story is funny, but it gets tiring fast. When I was kid, I had some fond experiences collecting toys from crane games and those slot machines. The reason is that they are teenagers going crazy over toys. I get the joke. The good thing is the second story which is better than the first.

Bizarre

Crazy Anime Hair of the Year!
Crazy Anime Hair of the Year!
  • Some of toys look like Power Rangers or those Kamen Riders.
  • You'll see a Sailor Moon figure at time 16:09, I believe. (I'll get an image soon)
  • The lady has a huge hairdo that looks like a turnip or an onion. She has a huge lollipop stored in that hairdo.
  • Switch collects stuff that deals with Momoka's shows such as that voice recording of Momoka's acting (lil' Momoka and the Yankee character). He even has a Momoka figurine. It makes me think Switch likes Momoka. He is the only one who did not mind Momoka's Moe stuff. Switch is a strange character.
