A Talented Neurosurgeon on the Hunt for the Monster he Saved
Dr. Tenma was a talented neurosurgeon working at the Eisler Memorial Hospital in Dusseldorf, Germany. The department director made use of Tenma's talents to get positive PR for the hospital in saving high-profile figures. But in a twist of conscience, Tenma chooses to save the life of a boy shot in the head instead of the city mayor. As a result of this act, the director demotes Tenma and he later becomes a suspect in the murder of the director and two of his colleagues.
Nine years later, Tenma is shocked to discover that the murders were committed by the boy whose life he saved named Johan Liebert. Blamed by the police for murders he didn't commit and feeling guilt for saving the life of a monster, Tenma sets out to locate and end the life of Johan. Despite this purpose however, Tenma is a humanitarian who cares for the well-being of others believing that all life is equal. The people he aids during his journey to hunt down Johan consider him a positive influence in their lives and wonder why such a man is trekking a dark path despite his innocence.
