Chief inspector Kaoru is investigating a grisly murder; her sole clue is Kyoko, an amnesiac girl found at the scene of the crime. She calls in her old flame Junichi, a consultant psychologist who only agrees to help if she performs sexual favors for him. When Junichi does eventually get around to examining Kyoko, he pronounces her as suffering from multiple personality disorder and entertains the possibility that among her sexually motivated personalities there may be a murderous one that committed the crime. Psychological investigation was big on Japanese live-action TV at the turn of the 21st century, with shows such as Hypnosis (*DE) and MPD Psycho (*DE), so it is perhaps no surprise that someone should put a sexualized spin on the proceedings in anime. Compare to Private Psycho Lesson and Oni Tensei. At time of writing, only the first "report" is available in English of what is clearly intended as a series. However, the Japanese website for the production company conspicuously files the Kekkai episode among its "completed serials," implying that there is not currently a plan to produce a sequel. LNV
