Keel Lorenz

An enigmatic character, Keel is the head of the Human Instrumentality comitee, the group who oversees NERV’s actions and is, therefore, Gendo Ikari’s superior. He was involved in the cover-up of the true nature of the Second Impact.

After the second impact, most of his body, with the exception of his head was replaced with robotic parts.

His final objective is to cause the Third Impact and start the Human Instrumentality Project in order to create the ultimate, perfect being.

He dies during the Third Impact in The End of Evangelion
