Welcome to the weekly Sket Dance blog! I'm Taka of Team W.I.K.I. Nation reporting on the latest episode and wiki progress for Sket Dance. Last episode was all about Bossun, and this week's episode focuses on Momoka and Switch.

Plot

When Switch gets a ticket to Momoka's concert, his computer and laptop breaks leaving him speechless. Bossun, Hime, and everyone asks Switch why he has been going to Momoka's concerts; Reiko requests Switch to get Momoka's autograph.

Will Switch get backstage with Momoka?

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

Lil Bossun is Lil Sasuke's boss
Lil Bossun is Lil Sasuke's boss
  • Despite that Switch has no laptop to communicate, he still makes the viewers laugh with his sketchbook.
  • Momoka and Switch had a great scene, and when Switch breaks the scene's tempo with the nice piano soundtrack, I expected that. In the end, Momoka has a devoted fan who always support her, Switch's Sketchbook. It's a lovely ending.
  • Biscuit Dance's stories are so darn cute. I love how Sasuke became braver with Agata separates him from Bossun, his "den mother."

Bad

  • As much I want Switch to express some emotions, he cannot due to his tragic past. He doesn't speak, but at least, he should smile!

Bizarre

She wears glasses?
She wears glasses?
  • Reiko's new quote: Oh my Satan is pretty hilarious. I loved her new catchphrase.
  • I have been debating why Switch is going to see Momoka in her concerts just to show his support. I feel there is something more in Switch's intentions, and Momoka is pretty curious as well.

Overall, this is another great episode that focuses on another pair of characters and their relationships, Switch and Momoka. Plus, the Biscuit Dance is a nice change which is refreshing to the normal two story episodes we have been watching.

Welcome to the weekly Sket Dance report! This episode has one of the longest titles in Sket Dance anime series. Besides that, we got another episode with two stories that are all about Bossun who seems to get into trouble a lot.

Plot

Episode 55: The Man Who was Called Laughing on The Outside, but Origami on the Inside

In the first story, Bossun accidentally drinks Chuuma's drug that was in a cola bottle where it causes his emotions and facial expressions to become all mismatched. Later, Bossun displays his skills in making origami.

Can Bossun get his face and emotions fix and can he win the origami contest?

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

"Bored" to Tears
"Bored" to Tears
  • I love the Bossun's mismatched emotions, and when my little sister points out that Bossun's bored to tears, I was laughing hysterically.
  • Switch and Hime are great as well. I love their reactions especially Hime who freaks out and goes gaga over Bossun's origami bunny.
  • Origami madness: You got Bossun's cool origami, Switch's funny origami monkey, and Hime's crappy creations.

Bad

There's not much bad to stuff to report. Though, Saaya needs to get some new lines.

Overall, this episode is awesome and ridiculously funny. It's too bad that Bossun didn't win the contest due to his obsession in creating the best origami. It's strange that Bossun enters his concentration mode which he hasn't done that in a while.

Galleries

We divided this gallery into two: Bossun's faces and origami. What is your favorite origami in this episode?

I picked this one because Switch's crappy drawings just made it funny.

Origami Hosuke

Thanks

Thank you everyone for reading my team's report and please give some recognition to my teammates for doing an excellent job in the wiki projects. They have been juggling school. I'm really grateful to work with them.

Welcome to the weekly Sket Dance report! I'm Taka, a member of Team W.I.K.I. Nation who works on Sket Dance wiki project. Last week's episode is fairy interesting because we got a new character, Koma, who have communication problems and goes berserk whenever she gets embarrassed, and the Sket Dan had another romance request.

In this episode (54: Get the Fortune Teller!), it's a full story involving Reiko and a certain fortuneteller.

Plot

When Hime and the others go to Reiko to get their fortune read, they find out that Reiko's methods are a scam due to Himiko Minakami's teachings. Switch and the Sket Dan crew challenge Himiko Minakami to a showdown where they will attempt to prove that her fortune telling is a scam in front of her followers.

Can Switch and the others defeat Himiko Minakami at her own game?

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

The resemblance is there
The resemblance is there
  • Switch and Reiko have another lovely story in this episode, and the last time was the Otaku and Occult. It's good to see their rivalry again.
  • Shinzo tries to hit on Saaya and Kumi. I don't know if he was following samurai conduct in his romance quest.
  • Sasuke's surprise is excellent. I looked at his eyes and thought it was strange. It's great to see the twins tackling another job together. I can't believe he didn't understand Switch's rivalry with Reiko. After all, he and Bossun are in the same boat.

Bad

  • There is nothing bad to report. I haven't read the manga to see which adaptation did the story better.

Bizarre

Does Shinzo likes tsundere girls?
Does Shinzo likes tsundere girls?
  • Emphasis on Saaya:It's strange to see Saaya in this episode and how she claims she doesn't have anyone in mind she likes.
  • Cellphone addict: Shinzo is too attached to his smart phone. Despite the samurai's frugal way of living, he is such a contradiction. That's the quirkiness behind him.
  • Switch's personality: Switch is serious in this episode when you usually see him doing silly things throughout the series.

Overall, this episode is great and a good change in flow of the normal stories we are treated. There a lot of two story style episodes. It's nice to see a change and a whole episode showcasing another interesting pair, Reiko and Switch. Plus, Switch takes the serious role in this episode instead of the silly personality. This makes the episode stand out.

Overview

Welcome to the fifth weekly Sket Dance article! Today was a busy day, and my team and I managed to finished Beelzebub 36 and Sket Dance 27. For those of you who don't know my team, my teammates are Annabanana, KuroNekoXIII, Hibaru, HalberdierV2, and Piface314. Let's discuss this exciting, promiscuous, and hilarious episode.

Plot

In this episode, it has two parts: Sket Dan meets Misora who taking the place of a teacher's assistant, and for the second part, Sket Dan and Misora learn more about Switch's inventions. All does not go well when Misora feels that her clumsiness has made her into a failure while Switch's inventions are another level of failure.

Will Sket Dan help Misora with her clumsiness problem and How Switch's inventions fail?

Tune in and watch Sket Dance episode 27.

Updates

Sket Dance has a new opening and closing theme: "Graffiti" by Gackt and "Milk to Chocolate (ミルクとチョコレート)" by ChocoLe.

New Character
Misora Remi is a former TV idol who stars in a show called "Together With Mommy." Her dreams are to be a teacher for the real thing.

Verdict

Good and Bizarre

*I'm going to make it a bit different this time since I have 3 nice set of images.

  • Switch has a wide variety of inventions, and all of them have a strange flaw.

Left to Right:

  1. Unnamed Moe, robot, girl head - Switch had made as a gift to Otakura. It cools down ramen by blowing on it.
  2. Mandoseru - A pun that has Madrill (mandoriru) and backpack (randoseru) combined to create this bag.
  3. Scope-Ion - Designed to zoom in and track things.
  4. Hover Shoes - Designed to float above the ground.
  5. Cheer Up Bazooka - Designed for long distance cheering.
  • Even though Misaro is clumsy, she is still an idol. Take a look at her images. Sket Dance has veered off from innocence to adult.

Ramen Doll: Is it nice and cold?
Ramen Doll: Is it nice and cold?
  • The female robot head that blows ramen has a hilarious scene with Bossun. It's my favorite moment in this episode.

Bad

I couldn't find anything bad. There were a lot of ecchi moments but it's not that bad. For the opening and closing theme, they are pretty good. Though I wonder why the girls are in undergarments while Hime acts innocent and cute.

Roman and Momoka in the new ending theme
Roman and Momoka in the new ending theme

Overall, I say the second half of the episode has the best laughter material.

There were a lot of Anime and Manga differences. Be sure to check out the wiki page on episode 27 once you finished the series.

Trivia

I asked my teammates to whip out some questions for you guys, but some of them were not linked to pages. They are floating randomly when you take the quiz. Sorry about that.

*I found the questions and linked them. Too bad that they are not on the character pages when I add trivia.

KuroNekoXIII"s Trivia

If you did these, then you will see something else or a different question that does not relate to Sket Dance.

Thanks

I thank you guys for reading this; I thank my team for being there to support each other. The Roman and Momoka image is uploaded by HalberdierV2, and I did the plot and images for Sket Dance episode 27 for a fellow teammate who was busy. Please see our work and the Team W.I.K.I Nation Vitae list.

Please see SketchBook and our lovely pages.

I finally finished the whole plot with the anime/manga differences in addition to the Beelzebub's report. It was a long day.

Remember, if you really love a franchise, manga, or anime, be sure to blog about it. It'll help our community grow. Over the last two weeks, there was a lot of weekly blogs such as Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei, Fate/Zero, and Persona 4.

Feel free to bump or comment this thread if you watch this episode in the future. I don't mind, and I will respond back because it's my role.

Overview

Welcome to a special edition of the Sket Dance reports. This is the 4th report for the Sket Dance project on Anime Vice, and episode 26 of Sket Dance is the second crossover episode from another series, Gintama, that started the Crossover in its episode, 227. There will be tons of references to other animes and lots of 4th walls broken.

Team Members

For those of you who don't know my team, my teammates are Annabanana, KuroNekoXIII, Hibaru, HalberdierV2, and Piface314.

From the Sket Dance and Gintama Similarites and Differences blog, Halberdierv2 and Mohsinman99 had told me about a crossover coming to Sket Dance this week. It's thanks to them, Anna and my team are prepared to tackle it.

Plot

Gintama 227

In this episode, Gintoki tells his team that they are doing a crossover with Sket Dance, but Gintoki thinks that Sket Dance is going into their territory and stealing the spotlight. When Sket Dance comes in, Bossun and Gintoki have a challenge on Treasure Island where the winner is the first team to find the Pizazz Pizazz fruit. The Devil fruit has a strange effect on the user.

Who will win the challenge and become the best odd jobs trio anime? What is the Devil fruit's effect?

Sket Dance - Episode 26: Spirit Dance

In this second crossover episode, Bossun and his team meet Gintoki's team again due to a machine error. They have a nice conversation that has some jokes and discoveries while Sket Dance and Gintoki time travel through a montage of Sket Dance episode clips.

Will Sket Dan and Gintoki's team gain closure and ever lasting relationship or will they have bad blood with each other?

Verdict

Beware of Mild Spoilers!

Good

GintamaSket Dance
  • Love how the Sket Dance characters make a troll face at the beginning of the show before the opening.
  • As Gintoki and Bossun race, their team members gossip about their leaders and make a lot of references to other animes.
  • During the credits, Sket Dance characters look good in the Gintama team's clothes.
  • During the credits, Gintoki and Kagura do a gender swap with their Sket Dance counterparts
  • Kagura and Gintoki find out that Switch's voice actor is the same as Gintoki's voice actor. Switch wears Gintoki's attire and looks good in it. Wish I could see his past self wearing it.
  • The Sket Dance crossover episode has more minor characters in it than the Gintama crossover episode.
  • Shinpachi and Teppei discover that they have something in common besides that they both wear glasses.
  • Shinpachi and Hime moment was too hysterical.
  • Time Travel and Montage is a padding technique. Switch is just too blunt and funny.
  • During the credits, Gintoki and his pals take the Sket Dan's role of basking in the clover fields.

Bad

GintamaSket Dance
Runny Diarrhea?
Runny Diarrhea?
  • Hime's rant scene about the Runny Diarrhea is too long and dragged out. (Though, I didn't get the joke since it's a cultural thing)
  • Another dragged out scene is when Bossun and Gintoki try to get their team to follow them by acting weak or disheartened.
No Badminton? :(
No Badminton? :(
  • I feel like half of the episode is not that great when you compare it to the second half where they did most of the action with the time travel.
  • Too bad, they did not do the badminton match between Hime and Kagura.
  • I feel that the conversation part of the episode has too little action despite its great comedic scenes.

Bizarre

GintamaSket Dance
  • Gintoki's analysis of Sket Dance was brilliant and a bit strange.
  • Gintoki explains what happens to his goggles in the anime version because he wears goggles in the manga version.
  • The episode had many references to the One Piece X Toriko crossover.
  • The montage of crossover images with Gintoki being the main attraction in them is awesome and strange.
Switch's Gintoki wig
Switch's Gintoki wig
  • During the opening theme song, Switch puts on a Gintoki wig instead of a moe girl's mask.
  • In the manga, Bossun had a bad relationship with Gintoki compared to the anime version of this episode.
  • The manga story has a lot of differences such as how the story starts and the extra things that anime has put in. Be sure to check out our wiki page on episode 26.

Overall

Despite the fact that my first Gintama episode is the crossover one, I feel that Gintama has a better crossover episode than Sket Dance. The reasons are that Gintama has more action, some innuendos, and the flow of the episode is not too dragged out compared to the Sket Dance version.

Both crossovers are strange and funny. Originally, I am excited to watch these episodes a week ago, and when I get to watch the episodes, my expectations are almost fulfilled. I just wish the Sket Dance episode has more of a plot or some kind of challenge to make it more interesting.

Anime References

Thanks to MohsinMan99 and Mezmero for telling me.

The Gintama episode is making a parody on the One Piece X Toriko crossover. See these images.

There are tons of references to other animes, but I won't list them. You have to look them on our wiki page for episode 227 of Gintama and episode 26 of Sket Dance. I'm already giving too much spoilers.

* As of Oct. 22, 2011, MohsinMan99 is our new teammate for Team W.I.K.I Nation. He's the Gintama expert.

Thanks

I thank you guys for reading this. You guys are awesome! This is for my community and my team W.I.K.I Nation who are working hard. I'm sorry that I couldn't get good images, but I will post more and Anna will post the Sket Dance's images.

This week, it is Anna's turn to do Sket Dance 26 and the two other anime episodes, so I figured I should work Gintama 227 just for the crossover event and the characters from Switch Off: Sawa Yamauchi, Masafumi Usui, and Yukino Hirai. It will take some time.

Halberdierv2 is working Chuuma's page while KuroNekoXIII did a splendid job on The SketchBook page. Please see our team's work. Thank you.

Let's get involved and make a big team!
Let's get involved and make a big team!

Overview

Each backpack represents each victim
Each backpack represents each victim

Hey, everyone. I just had another idea after reflecting what happened this last week. Coincidentally, I attended the Silence Packing Tour that promotes suicide awareness in college students, and at the same time, I watched and worked on Sket Dance 24 and 25: Switch Off, and it had the main character wanting to do suicide. In the end, Switch did not commit suicide and continues keeping his loved one's memories alive in his heart.

Sending Silence Packing Tour

Backpack Suicide Awareness
Backpack Suicide Awareness

When I was in school on Thurday (9-22), I seen many backpacks lying on the lawn in front of the science building. Each backpack had a photo of the student and a note from the victim's family and friends. I find myself reading several notes until I had to go to class. I came back afterwards and read some notes.

It's sad these students lost their lives.

Disclaimer: I deleted the names to protect myself. I'm sorry. This is from my school's newspaper.

How does this relates to Sket Dance's character Switch

Switch: I want to die
Switch: I want to die

Well, I can't spoil you. I can just say that Switch lost someone due to his mistake, and that when he transforms to be like his loved one, he loses another close friend. Please watch Sket Dance 24 and 25 and read Anna and my work on their respective wiki pages, or read the Weekly report of Switch's story.

Conclusion

Please watched your loved ones closely. Always say hello to your classmates even if though you don't know them. It makes their day.

Suicide can be preventable if you are proactive.

Overview and Team

Purpose: To show Anime Vice that teamwork is the key to tackle and complete wiki projects. Working in a team makes our community grow closer to each other. With our lives are busy at work, at home, or at school, having a team can cover your back.

You can make a team, too. Believe in yourself. Don't give up. Keep writing blogs, writing on people's walls, or joining them if you see them working on something you love.

In Anime Vice, we are a community. No, a guild. We are working towards a common goal to live Anime Vice Life to the fullest by talking, wiki editing, rpging, and watching anime.

Sket Dance stands for:

  • Support
  • Kindness
  • Encouragement
  • Troubleshoot

We could come up with a team name: Wiki Nation. It may not have a cool acronym, but our ideas are

  • Wiki
  • Innovation
  • Kindness
  • Intelligence

W.I.K.I. Nation

Our work and the members

Started since last night (8-18-2011), our burning phoenix, Piface314, has come back home. She is the one who proposed to Anna and I. We loved the idea.

A rag team of college students and a high school student band together to do a wiki project on Sket Dance.

Annabanana

Anna is the juggernaut of images, the wiki machine, and the Fairy Queen. Her prized wiki work are Fairy Tail and Beelzebub.

Current projects of Anna is Fairy Tail (Taka and Newten), Beelzebub (with Taka, Piface314, and ShadowKnight508), Blue Exorcist (with Taka), Buster Keel (alone), and Yankee-kun no Megane-chan (alone).

Piface314

A bounty huntress whose formatting skills are lightning fast while her story arcs are beautiful, and her prized work is Bleach characters. Piface314 is also working on Beelzebub with Anna, Taka, and ShadowKnight508.

Takashichea

I am the historian wiki editor/ Wiki addict whose best blogs are recognition blogs, and the man who keeps talking about team work. My prized work is Shaman King, Fairy Tail, and Rave Master with my partner, Fire_Star.

My current wiki projects are Fairy Tail (with Anna and Newten), Beelzebub (with Anna, Piface314, and ShadowKnight508), Blue Exorcist (with Anna), Shaman King (alone), and Gosick (with Halberdierv2 and Auron570).

New Members

Hibaru

He is a hard working and quiet wiki editor who dreams to be a Mangaka. He is a part of a former Blue Exorcist team with Dscythe911. His prized work are Shura Kirigakure and Kibitsu Momoka for their detailed origin, creation, and character evolution.

He is currently working on a wiki project, Nurarihyon no Mago, by himself. Please support him.

We are W.I.K.I. Nation.

Motto: Expect nothing but brilliance from us. We finish what we have started.

Note: I couldn't come up with N.A.T.I.O.N. at this moment, but W.I.K.I. is sufficient enough. Will update this blog. Motto is still in the works.

Feel free to join us or create new teams. Oh yes, Anime Vice is a Wiki Nation like its brother and sister sites.

Go Anime Vice!

Go Wiki Nation!
