Karin Kurosaki "BLEACH" Vol. 1 Ch. 1
Karin Kurosaki is a emotionally removed preteen girl. She has short length black hair that she wears down and gray eyes. As a tomboy, she's not seen wearing over my feminine clothes, such as dresses. She prefers to wear shorts, cargo pants, and t-shirts. In contrast to her innocent and dutiful twin sister, Karin is both cynical and removed. This is reflected in her denial of ghosts despite being able to see them. She can still be aggressive when pushed. Her personality has been compared to her brother Ichigo, and she addresses him as "Ichi-nii", as a nickname. They both feel a need to protect and try to hide their emotions to prevent people from worrying.

She's still irritated by her gift to see ghosts, but while visiting Urahara's shop. She has expressed the desire to be the one to protect Ichigo.
Karin was eating dinner on one night when Ichigo came home. Yuzu was jealous that both Ichigo and Karin could see ghosts, but Karin refuses to believe in them. Ichigo ran off to his roof thanks to Isshin's, their father, childish antics, and Karin teased him about her father's immaturity. That night, the quiet was disturbed as a monster called a Hollow attacked their home. It was after Ichigo, but grabbed Yuzu. Even injured, Karin called out to Ichigo to save Yuzu before passing out. Ichigo killed the creature with the help of the Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki; but Rukia healed their injuries and replaced their memory to think someone crashed their car into the house.
Several day after, Karin went out to help Yuzu and their father to help at a car accident that happened near by. One of the injured was a friend of Ichigo, Sado Yasutora. He had a parakeet, but Yuzu could feel in an instant that this wasn't a normal bird. It was the spirit of a young boy who had witnessed his mother's murder. The sorrow she could feel off the child was overwhelming. She was sick the whole next day and skipped school to find Ichigo. She found him, and as he carried her back home she openly cries and she begged him to save the boy from the monster following him. Even as she slept at home, she could tell he saved him.
The next day at school, Yuzu called her attention to say she saw Ichigo jumping over the school wall. Karin didn't believe anyone could jump over an eight foot wall, but Yuzu pointed out to him happily skipping fifteen-feet in the air. Karin stopped Yuzu from calling out to him since something wasn't right about that. When Karin saw that Midoriko was a witness, she threatened her into forgetting she saw anything. They later heard about a guy with orange hair attacking some school kids, but Karin said it was an imposter.
On the anniversary of their mother's death, their dad took them on a trip to visit their mother's grave. They saw Rukia Kuchiki call out to Ichigo, and Karin thought she looked familiar. Karin tended to her mother's gravestone and prayed while she tried to ignore her father's foolishness. As she was trying to sooth Yuzu's crying, Karin noticed a ghost of a girl by the cliff side. When Karin tried talking to her, it revealed that it wasn't a ghost but the very Hollow that murdered her mother, Grand Fisher. It attacks Karin and Yuzu, but the were saved by Ichigo. She could see he was dressed as a Soul Reaper with a giant sword. He set them somewhere safe before going to battle the monster. He survived, Grand Fisher ran away, and Karin wasn't sure if it was all a bad dream.
Karin joined Yuzi and their father to the live filming of Yuzu's favorite ghost-hunting show starring the flamboyant Don Kanonji. To her surprise, Ichigo had been dragged along by his friends to the abandoned hospital. She was surprised when she could actually feel a spirit, and noticed Ichigo had gone missing. Don Kanonji had inadvertently forced the ghost to become a Hollow. She could faintly see Ichigo fight the it. The next day when Don Kononji came to the family clinic, Karin was woken up and could clearly see Ichigo running away dressed as a Soul Reaper with Rukia.
That same day, Karin went out to play soccer and were attacked by a Hollow. She tried to get her friends away, but they didn't understand her panic. They were saved by Sado, but he couldn't see it. Karin rode on his shoulders and acted as his eyes while he fought. He won when his right arm suddenly was covered in armor but collapsed due to his injuries. She kicked him in the head for not carrying about his own wounds. She ran back home to get her dad, but Sado wasn't there on their return.
It was during the summer fireworks festival that both Karin and Yuzu accidentally drank some sake and got a bit drunk. Ichigo left for the Soul Society the next day to save Rukia. Ichigo's disappearance was filled in by the mod soul Kon in Ichigo's body. Over the summer break, Karin got involved in hunting some lesser Hollows with Don Kanonji, Jinta Hanakari, and Ururu Tsumugiya. The called themselves the "Karakura Superheroes".
After the real Ichigo returned, Karin could tell something was wrong with him. She confronted him that she knew he was a Soul Reaper. Their confrontation was cut short as they both felt the the intense Spiritual Pressure of the Espada Hollows that had arrived in the Human World. She tried to stop him from going, but he transformed and left. The next day several of the Soul Reapers from the Soul Society came to Karakura Town, and Rukia convinced their father to let her live with them. Ichigo went missing for over a month, and he was seriously injured in his fight with an Espada when he came back. Karin and Yuzu ate their dinner in his room and slept there to watch over their brother. Ichigo left again to Hueco Mundo when he learned that he and everyone else had been saved by Orihime Inoue handing herself over to the forces of Sousuke Aizen.
In response to the plot of Aizen, The Gotei 13 transported Karakura Town to the Soul Society and all the people were put to sleep for their own safety. Yuzu and Karin were among the people sleeping during the war with Aizen's army. Ichigo defeated Aizen, but lost all his powers.
Seventeen months passed had passed, and Karin was now the member of the family that could see ghosts. They were getting more frequent to the point it started to annoy her. She went to Urahara's Shop for devices to repel ghosts. Kisuke Urahara refused to let her pay out of gratitude for all the help Ichigo gave him in the past. She very much wants to be the one to protect her brother now. Later the next night, Karin's teasing Yuzu about her feelings of Ichigo went a bit too far and she ran off.
Some time later, Karin and Yuzu were both attacked by Shūkurō Tsukishima. He used his Fullbring powers to manipulate their memories to make them think he was their cousin. This was all part of a plot to antagonize Ichigo. They were later used as hypnotized hostages at Tsukishima's home in a mock surprised party for Ichigo.
Karin has had the ability to see ghosts for as long as she remembers. Slowly her ability has grown to the point she could see her brother while in his Soul Reaper clothes and Hollows. This takes a significant level of spiritual awareness. When the Arrancar first arrived in Karakura Town, she was able to feel their Spiritual Pressure the same time as Ichigo. She has still not presented any powers.
