Karen Joshua is a Master Chief Petty Officer an the longest serving member in the 08th MS Team.
Karen Joshua is considered to be a ruthless soldier who's actions have been said to intimidate the previous commanders of the 08th MS Team into leaving the service. Her interaction with her teammates is abrasive, and initially is not convinced that Shiro is fit to command the team. She is a widow, who lost her husband for an unknown reason, and as the series progresses a love interest between her and team member Eledore Massis begins to form.
