A bow-staff wielder of prodiguous skill, and the Third Fist of Ragnarok.
Kaname is the grandaughter and disciple of a legendary bow-staff user who trained her from a young age. As she grew older, she developed an interest in other female fighters and gathered a squad of talented girls, which later included Kisara Nanjo. She was recruited into the gang Ragnarok by its leader Odin, as she hoped to gain martial arts instruction from his teacher, Kensei. This would probably be the point where she took the name "Freya".
Freya is a character from Syun Matsueda's manga series History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, and its anime adaptation of the same name.
Freya is a tall young woman with dark skin and short, dark hair. She has unusual jagged eyebrows, and a well-developed set of abdominal muscles that often show through her vest. Her most common outfit is a pair of blue jogger bottoms worn with a blue vest, orange jacket and blue gloves. Freya also sports an eye-shaped necklace.
She is a usually cool-headed and analytical young woman. This disposition contrasts with her fiery protege and friend Kisara. Alike most of the martial-artists in the Strongest Disciple franchise she is proud of the strength and skills that she has developed, however, she tends to refrain from bragging about them. She is particularly interested in other women who have taken up fighting and developed strong skills.
Her team, the Valkyries all strongly admire her and aspire to her example. She is particularly close to Kisara, who looks up to her like an older sister. The two girls have developed a romantic interest in the same man, Ukita, however it doesn't seem to have affecting their friendship.
Freya is a martial-artist who specialises in the use of a bow staff. While she favours the weapon partially because it is the choice weapon of her grandfather, she has also consciously chosen it because it is a non-lethal instrument. As well as being able to use the staff for more standard manoeuvres, Freya can use it to perform athletic feats like pole-vaulting. While she primarily specialises in the use of the bow, Freya is also proficient in the use of unarmed combat, though not to the same extent as when using her weapon.
