Keitaro Urashima's Stepsister and Potential Love Interest
Kanako is the adoptive younger sister of Keitaro Urashima and she is a master of disguise. When Keitaro leaves the Hinata-sou to be taught under
Seta Noriyasu, Kanako takes advantage of her brother's departure to become
Kanrinrin of the Hinata-sou and turn it from a girl's dormitory to an inn. By doing this, she forces the inn residents to either serve as unpaid workers to pay for rent at the inn or leave. Rather than seeing him as a sibling, Kanako sees Keitaro as a another ordinary man - love interest. When they were children, both promised to own an inn together with Kanako believing they could be together as husband and wife. However, Keitaro does not see Kanako as anything more than a sibling. Being aware of Naru Narusegawa and the girls having some sort of affection for Keitaro, Kanako does what she can to make their lives as miserable as possible in order to drive them out of the Hinata-sou .
She appears in both Love Hina Again episodes 1-3 and the manga. She has a cat named Kuro.
