Kana Minami
Kana is an impulsive and lively girl who often doesn't think before she acts; she usually acts or talks impolitely, much to the annoyance of of her younger sister Chiaki. She enjoys fooling around and has been known to do things like invent new holidays and also recruits Chiaki's classmates into joining her silly escapades.
Kana is rather selfish at times, for example in one episode she comes home cold and Chiaki goes off to run her a bath, Kana then proceeds to Eat the instant noodles that Chiaki was looking forward to eating, But to be fair Kana also realises when she has done wrong and sometimes try to fix things, like in the instant noodle example, When chiaki returned she could tell she was upset so she went to her Secret stash and made Chiaki a new pot of instant noodles.
She also can take responsibility at times, for example the final episode when her and Chiaki believe that Haruka is leaving to study abroad, Kana tries her best to look after Chiaki and learn to do chores and to cook. She constantly says that she doesnt want Haruka to leave but this studing abroad is a life time experience and Haruka deserves it and shouldnt be held back by them, which is rather respectable.
It is also known that Kana has not talent with cooking, and is often seen Making people ill with her cooking.
