Kami is the guardian of Earthand created the dragon balls, in order to become the guardian of Earth, even after all his training, he had to separate himself from all the evil in his heart, which became known as Piccolo. He later rejoins bodies with Piccolo knowing Cell was coming.
Kami is a Namekian that came to Earth many years ago to become the guardian of Earth. Even after his training to replace the former guardian of Earth, his master said he could never replace the Guardian of Earth because he had to much evil in his heart. However, Kami would not let that be so he seperated himself from evil in his hear bringing life to his evil counter part Piccolo and became the guardian of Earth on his very on look out with Mr. Popo to protect the Earth from all evil. . After many years of being the guardian of Earth, he was forced to rejoin bodies with Piccolo knowing a new dangerous threat named Cell was approaching and none of the Z Fighters could stop him.
