Kamakiri Maniwa

Kamakiri is a leader of the Maniwa Corps' insect Squad. He fights using a technique called Tsume Awase that allows him to grow claws from his fingernails. He and the insect squad are assigned to kidnapped Nanami Yasuri, a task they fail spectacularly.

Creation

Kamakiri is a character in the Katanagatari series of light novels written by Nishio Ishin, a popular Japanese writer, with illustrations by Take. He also appears in the anime series of the same name which was created by White Fox and directed by Keitaro Motonaga. Kamakiri, voiced by Makoto Yasumura, makes his first appearance in Episode #4 of the anime series: "Needle, the Fine".
