Realizing that their pop group, Climb, is going nowhere, guitarist Yuki and drummer Santa decide to split and form a new combo. Calling themselves Lucifer, they discover their new vocalist in the form of pretty-boy Sakuya, who takes the job over playing the piano in a hotel bar. Sakuya, however, harbors some dark secrets of his own. This series was based on a manga by Mayu Shinjo serialized in Shojo Comic and rushed onto TV to cash in on the success of the earlier boy-band extravaganza Weiss Kreuz. Toning down the sensual original for an early-evening audience, the show nevertheless concentrates on the broody, moody male stars, emphasizing music and drama over the animation itself, which is of a rather cheap digital nature.
