Tokyograph reports that the character album for K-On!, Kyoto Animation's latest moe-and-music-fest of an anime, has hit the #1 spot on the weekly CD sales-- the first time ever for an anime, outside of its own category of course.
Prior to that, the highest any character album had ever reached was #2...including another Kyoto Animation release, Lucky Star's Motteke!! Sailor Fuku, and the non-KyoAni OST for Macross Frontier.
So omedetou gozaimasu, K-On!, for breaking through the glass anime ceiling! I still think your characters are kind of dumb, even if I have to admit that I enjoy your music.
