K-On! Video Game In the Works: Castanets!...?

Word on Kotaku is that the newly season-two'd manga/anime K-On! is getting a video game, and true to form, the only thing we know about it so far is that Sega is making it. No system, no genre, no nothin'.

I tried to slough this article off on John, who was unwilling to take it at 10:45pm on a Friday, but he did offer that Sega made Samba de Amigo. Given this proclivity to percussion instruments, I think we can safely assume that it's going to be a castanets-based rhythm game. Right?

Would you buy it?

Well, it's being made by SEGA so that's not a good sign. Either way, I wont buy it.

Well, I'd speculate it would be some sort of music or rhythm game, in which case there's no way I'd get it - now, if it were a shoot-em-up...

The fact that SEGA are the ones developing it doesn't fill me with hope, though I doubt it will be a great game no matter who develops it... unless they made Rockband: K-ON! Edition... hmmm.

@Newten: it would fit perfectly with my rockband guitar, drums and mic, the rockband clascinets, fuck yes mate lol, k on rockband for the xbox i would tottally get

Nope, it's just not my thing but I hope it ends up helping Sega with products that will sell well. I've been a little worried since they released 3 RPGs that they published in North America during the same month Final Fantasy XIII was released. I bought two of them (Infinite Space [by the same awesome studio that made Bayonetta, Platinum Games] and Resonance of Fate*) and well as for the other one (Yakuza 3) I just have to say I wonder how many copies that even sold. Although it was probably just to try to ship as much stuff as possible before their fiscal year ended.

I wonder which studio is going to make it although without knowing if it's just going to be an arcade game, cell phone game, or home console/handheld I guess it's hard to know.

*although having heard about it I'm a little squimish since the combat system sounds hella complex and in a non-intuitive way. It's mainly the steam punk aesthetic and crazy Japanese vibe being the main reason I bought it.
